A little over three months since it was announced at The Game Awards 2020, the Airship map has finally arrived in Among Us. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this new content, with excitement reaching a fever pitch in recent weeks.  After all this time, though, was the Airship map actually worth the wait?

It's been an exciting month for fans of the hit social deduction game. InnerSloth, the indie studio behind Among Us, revealed the Airship's release date a few weeks prior to its actual arrival. The day of release, many fans were left searching the studio's social media accounts to find out what time the Airship update was actually happening. Once the new map was live, though, users faced a number of download and server issues, which were most likely caused from the high volume of traffic coming to Among Us.

Ahead of the Airship's release, InnerSloth had already confirmed new tasks and rooms would be a part of the map. Two new tasks, polishing jewelry and emptying trash, were previously announced. Now that players are actually getting to experience the map themselves, though, they're learning of all sorts of fun new tasks, including resetting breakers and developing photos.

Why Among Us' Airship Was Worth The Wait

The Airship is the largest map to be added into Among Us so far. This means there's plenty to explore, and new features like ladders and moving platforms mean escaping from Impostors - or taking down crewmates - is even more interesting. The new gameplay mechanics are a lot of fun, and it makes the Airship look and feel quite a bit different from the previous maps released already.

As expected with new releases and updates, the Airship comes with some bugs and errors. This includes players getting stuck after meetings, an infinite loading screen, and problems with the new account system. Thankfully, InnerSloth has been working on these issues and has resolved quite a few of them already.

Despite some of these problems, the Airship is still a great addition to Among UsThe new gameplay mechanics, coupled with the new content itself, has really reinvigorated the game. So, yes, the Airship map has definitely been worth the wait. For anyone looking for even more content, a new Airship Skin Bundle is also available, offering fans over a dozen new hats, three skins, and a new kill animation inspired by InnerSloth's own Henry Stickmin games.
