American Ninja Warrior, the show that reframed how Americans think of strength, was also the brief home to a unique woman, host Jenn Brown. Though Brown exited ANW after season 6, the blonde-haired athlete has had a truly remarkable life full of unexpected twists and turns. Let’s take a look.

While Jenn has carved out a special place for herself in the world of sports broadcasting, that wasn’t her initial career objective. She entered the University of Florida on a full academic scholarship and made the Gator’s softball team as a freshman walk-on. She was team captain by her senior year. After college, Brown applied to seventeen law schools with the intention of becoming a sports agent. But then she got offered a job as the host of HDNet travel show, The Wild Side. She accepted, moved to LA, and never looked back. She never even opened the acceptance letters from those seventeen law schools she applied to. According to her website, Just Jenn, they’re sitting at the bottom of a drawer in her mother’s home in Orlando.

Since her first job, she has been very busy. She’s been a sideline reporter for the Little League World Series, ESPN’s Saturday noon college football games, and the Summer and Winter X Games. She’s been a contributor to ESPN’s SportsCenter, College Gameday, and College Football Live. She was the first-ever female correspondent on Showtime Sports’ Inside the NFL. She’s covered the Super Bowl, the College Baseball World Series, the NBA Finals, the Monaco Grand Prix, and the Indie 500. She’s even received two sports broadcasting Emmys for her outstanding coverage. Currently, she’s at work covering Bellator MMA.

When she’s not hosting, Jenn can be found working on her charitable organization, The Carrie Brown Foundation. Alongside her mother, Jenn established her foundation, which sends underprivileged children to summer camp, in honor of her late sister Carrie, who died tragically in a car accident in 2000. To support the foundations, Jenn designed a line of jewelry, the Jenn Brown Collection, with a very special piece: The Carrie Necklace. All the proceeds from the sale of the necklace go towards sending kids to summer camp. Jenn is also a wife and mother. Her husband, actor Wes Chatham, is known for many and various roles, including that of Castor in The Hunger Games, Parts 1 & 2. Together they have two sons.

Two kids, two Emmys, and an endless list of hosting jobs certainly keep Jenn Brown busy. Though she didn’t last too long on American Ninja Warrior, her memory absolutely will. Here she is giving the course her best. As she said herself, it’s a lot more intimidating when you’re up there.
