On the season finale of American Idol, Top 3 finalists HunterGirl, Leah Marlene, and Noah Thompson, will sing the songs of rock legend and 20-time Grammy Award winner Bruce Springsteen, along with their recently released original music, as they compete to be crowned the winner of season 20. America voted the Top 3 finalists into the finale after being mentored by country music superstar and American Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood. During that episode, Fritz Hager and Nicolina Bozzo were eliminated from the competition, which means that either HunterGirl, Leah, and Noah will be the next American Idol winner.

On May 13, the American Idol finalists released singles that are currently climbing the charts. HunterGirl wrote her song, "Red Bird," which is about how cardinals are spirit guides from heaven. Leah also penned her tune, "Flowers," a song which uses the metaphor of flowers growing through pavement to symbolize how people can rise up out of difficult situations. Noah's song, "One Day Tonight," is about a man who wants to make all of his girlfriends' dreams come true, including a marriage and children.

According to MjsbigblogAmerican Idol announced through a press release that the season finale will feature one round dedicated to "The Boss," and the other will showcase the Top 3 finalists' original songs. Throughout the years, Bruce did not often approve his songs for reality singing competitions. However, in 2021, he sold the rights to his entire song catalog to Sony Music Entertainment for $500 million and therefore no longer controls the rights to his music. His songbook includes classics such as "Born in the U.S.A.," "Dancing in the Dark," "Born to Run," "Glory Days," "Hungry Heart," and "Streets of Philadelphia."

In addition to the songs sung by the American Idol finalists, HunterGirl, Leah, and Noah, the American Idol finale will feature performances from the talented judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie. American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood and Gabby Barrett will also sing. There will also be performances from X Factor UK alum James Arthur; Sara Bareilles; Deana Carter; Earth, Wind, & Fire; Melissa Etheridge; Flo Rida; Ben Platt; Thomas Rhett; and Tai Verdes, in addition to some surprises. Michael Bublé will also appear to fulfill his promise to duet with Top 7 finalist Christian Guardino.

The American Idol finale is always an exhilarating night full of extraordinary entertainment and fun surprises. As music icons appear on the show to support the newest group of American Idol singers, there is both a nostalgic atmosphere and an electrifying feeling of excitement for the future of music. Fans are sure to be on the edge of their seats for the three-hour event, as they finally find out if HunterGirl, Leah, or Noah will win American Idol.
