American Idol season 19 judge Katy Perry has landed a multimillion-dollar contract for a Las Vegas residency that will be kicked off in 2021 at Resorts World. Katy Perry joined American Idol when ABC rebooted the franchise in 2018. For four seasons now, Katy has appeared alongside judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. These three judges have great chemistry together, and they have given the contestants plenty of great advice over the years. In 2020, Katy gave birth to her first daughter, Daisy Dove, alongside fiancé Orlando Bloom.

When Katy Perry joined American Idol, she landed a record-breaking contract with ABC that included a salary of $25 million per season. This made her the highest-paid female judge in the history of the franchise. Four seasons later, Katy has already made $100 million from appearing on Idol, which has largely contributed to her estimated net worth of $330 million (via Celebrity Net Worth). And yet, Katy is pushing forward with new projects and contracts that will help her increase her overall earnings even further in the next few years.

As one of the most popular pop stars on the planet, Katy Perry is now securing her spot on the Las Vegas Strip. As reported by Billboard in March 2021, Katy has closed the deal for a Las Vegas residency that will start in late 2021 and keep going into 2022. The residency will take place at The Theatre venue inside the Resorts World complex, which has a 5,000-person capacity. Per Electronic Vegas reports, Katy Perry will be making $168 million from this residency contract. In this residency, Katy will be reportedly performing two nights a week for a period of four months. The official announcement of her Vegas residency can be watched below.

One thing is certain: Katy Perry will be adding a few millions to her bank account with this Las Vegas residency. So far, the rumors are that Katy's residency concert will have a circus theme, just like her latest album release, 2020's Smile. However, the trailer included above shows her looking like a mermaid, so it's also possible that the theme is still in the works. There are also rumors that Katy could do something similar to Lady Gaga - creating two separate Vegas shows that offer different experiences to the fans. In Gaga's case, she launched a pop-heavy concert as well as a jazz-focused series of shows.

If the success of other pop stars in Las Vegas serves as any indication, Katy Perry will cash in a lot of money and make a lot of fans very happy with this new project. Hopefully, more details will come out soon, such as the name for Katy's upcoming residency and additional ticket info.
