WARNING! Minor SPOILERS ahead for American Horror Stories season 2, episode 7!The American Horror Stories season 2, episode 7, cast and characters bring back a few familiar AHS actors. American Horror Stories’ “Necro” arrives after the Piggy Man-reminiscent ending of “Facelift,” which saw a woman turned into a sacrificial pig by a plastic surgeon’s cult. “Necro,” a combining form relating to corpses and death, similarly plays with the themes of vanity and the desire for physical perfection, but in a more unpleasantly morbid approach.

American Horror Stories season 2, episode 7 follows a young mortician, Sam, who enjoys her job as she finds the dead to be more inspiring than the living. However, she soon discovers that someone else shares her unconventional fascination with death when the new grave digger Charlie arrives. American Horror Stories' "Necro" then sees Sam and Charlie push each other past their limits as they feel "more alive" the closer they get to death, which is based on their traumatic childhood experiences of witnessing their family members' deaths.
