The American Horror Stories season 2, episode 2 cast and characters bring back a few familiar AHS stars. “Aura” will continue American Horror Stories’ trend of mixing in new actors with returning American Horror Story stars, each of whom portrays a character in a different terrifying tale every episode. Following the shocking ending of American Horror Stories season 2, episode 1, the cast of “Aura” gives a more chilling performance.

American Horror Stories’ “Aura” follows married couple Jaslyn and Bryce after they move into a new house, but the couple is soon terrorized by a sinister figure. Once Jaslyn buys an Aura device, a spin on the home-security Ring product, a horrifying figure personally taunts her on the camera. However, the image of American Horror Stories' creepy character can only be captured through Aura, leading to an eerily supernatural twist.

Similar to Denis O’Hare making his spinoff debut in American Horror Stories’ season 2 episode “Dollhouse,” the second episode “Aura” features the first spinoff appearance for two of American Horror Story’s memorable actors, Gabourey Sidibe and Max Greenfield. Additionally, the “Aura” cast adds a few new faces to the American Horror Story universe. Here’s a breakdown of the American Horror Stories season 2, episode 2 cast and characters.

Jaslyn Mary and Ms. Hendricks in AHStories "Aura"

Gabourey Sidibe as Jaslyn: A jewelry maker and the wife of Bryce who is traumatized from a home invasion when she was a child. While perhaps best known for playing the title role in the Oscar-nominated movie Precious or Becky on Empire, Sidibe is held dearly in the eyes of AHS actors for her notable characters in the franchise. Sidibe memorably portrayed Queenie in AHS: Coven, followed by Regina Ross in AHS: Freak Show, and later reprised her role as Queenie in AHS: Hotel and AHS: Apocalypse.

Max Greenfield as Bryce: Jaslyn's husband. Greenfield is best recognized for playing Schmidt in New Girl, Dave in The Neighborhood, and Leo in Veronica Mars. The actor is also known for his collaborations with Ryan Murphy, which include portraying Gabriel in American Horror Story: Hotel and Ronnie in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

Joel Swetow as Dayle Hendricks: The frightening man who taunts Jaslyn through the Aura camera at her front door.  American Horror Stories’ season 2 episode “Aura” marks Swetow’s introduction to the AHS universe, with the actor being better known for his roles in Charmed, Kidding, Rent, and 2018’s The Grinch.

Vince Yap as Hwan: Jaslyn and Bryce's next-door neighbor. American Horror Stories marks Yap’s third TV appearance, after Play the Hits and Lonely and Horny.

Freddie Basnight as Officer #1: One of the policemen who responds to Jaslyn's first home invasion call. Basnight’s acting credits before American Horror Stories’ season 2 episode “Aura” include Riley Parra, Zane at Dusk, and various short films.

Greg Cohan as Officer #2: The second officer who patronizes Jaslyn for her seemingly nonexistent home intruder. Cohan's other acting credits include Space Available and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

Sam Bixby as Aura Reviewer: The Aura reviewer who makes a video about the device being able to show ghosts. Before American Horror Stories season 2, Bixby was seen in My Missing Sister, Minute Mate, and numerous short films like Remedy.

Nancy Linehan Charles as Ms. Hendricks: The sister of Jaslyn's old school janitor, Dayle Hendricks. Charles is best known for her roles as Peg on Young Sheldon, Elspeth on Ave 43, Lois on Huff, and Dr. Bowman in Rob Zombie’s 3 from Hell.

Lily Rohren as Mary Jeane Burkett: The girl on the Aura who talks about Grace Park and asks Jaslyn to let her inside. American Horror Stories season 2, episode 2, “Aura” is Rohren’s first TV role, though the actress has starred in several short films and the movie Last Night.

Kimberlee Jackson as Young Jaslyn: The young version of Jaslyn who experiences a home invasion. Jackson's only other acting credit is in The Birthmark Killer.

Asha Nwaki as High School Jaslyn: The teenage version of Jaslyn in the American Horror Stories episode who receives letters from Mr. Hendricks. Nwaki has also appeared in 2021's Back in Time.
