With Chinese projects becoming more popular in Hollywood, American Born Chinese offers some additional representation for Chinese Americans. Joining Wang and Yeoh are her EEAAO co-stars, Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu, as well as Yeo Yann Yann (Being Human), Chin Han (The Dark Knight), Daniel Wu (Westworld), and many other stars. Filming wrapped in July, and the project is set to release on May 24.

Based on the American Born Chinese comic, the adaptation features the coming-of-age story of Jin Wang. With Jin struggling to reconcile his cultural background with American society, he is completely listless. Yet, after befriending his fellow student Wei-Chen (Jim Liu), Jin is drawn into a complex mythological conflict that could see the whole of the world in danger.

As yet, there has not been any information about how many episodes there will be, nor if there could be a second season. American Born Chinese is being run by the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and promises to be massive in scope.
