American Gods is returning to Starz for a second season. The TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's surreal novel arrived on Starz in 2017, starring Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, and Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday/ Odin. Season 1 ended with the old gods beginning to assemble at the House on the Rock to fight against the uprising of new gods, and while season 2 has taken some time to arrive, it's now set to arrive on March 10, picking up just moments after the close of season 1.

Whittle and McShane are both back for American Gods season 2, along with Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, Orlando Jones as Mr. Nancy, Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, and Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, a character that's set to play a pivotal role in season 2. Meanwhile, Gillian Anderson will not be returning as Media; her role has now been replaced by Kahyn Kim, who will be playing New Media. There's also a change of showrunner for season 2, with Bryan Fuller and Michael Green departing, and Jesse Alexander now taking the helm. American Gods season 2 will cover the next portion of Gaiman's novel, including the disappearance of Mr. Wednesday and the downfall of Mad Sweeney. Here's how you can watch American Gods season 2 from wherever you are in the world.

When American Gods Season 2 Airs In The U.S.

Mr Wednesday in American Gods season 2

In the U.S., American Gods season 2 will air on Starz, just as season 1 did. Starz is a premium channel, so if you don't already have it, you'll need to set up a subscription. It's worth pointing out that American Gods season 1 only took us about a fifth of the way through Gaiman's novel, and a third season of American Gods is already confirmed. We could, therefore, see at least 5 seasons of American Gods, so if you're interested in watching, bear in mind you may need a subscription on a long term basis. New episodes will arrive weekly, so binge watching is out of the question unless you wait until the whole season has aired.

How to Watch American Gods Season 2 Online

If you don't have cable, or have given up TV altogether, you can still watch American Gods season 2 online. Starz has an app, which you can download and watch all of the TV shows and movies currently available on Starz and Starz Encore including, you guessed it, American Gods season 2. You can also register up to 4 devices on one account. The Starz app is supported on iOS and Android, as well as Amazon Fire TV, Roku, XBox One, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari browsers, Kindle, Sony Smart TV, Nexus, and Apple TV. For all other platforms, check operating instructions.

How To Watch American Gods Season 2 Internationally

Mr Wednesday and Shadow Moon in American Gods season 2

The good news is, if you're outside of the U.S., you can still watch American Gods season 2. Internationally, the show will be available on Amazon Prime Video. That does require a subscription in order that you can access the show, but you also get access to all the other Amazon Prime video content as well. Again, considering American Gods will run for at least 3 seasons (but possibly 5 or more), it's an investment but given the critical acclaim of American Gods season 1, it's likely to be worth it.

Internationally, American Gods season 2 episode 1 will arrive on Monday, March 11th, with new episodes arriving weekly. Unlike some other streaming platforms, you don't have access to the entire season all in one go. Episodes will arrive after midnight in your relevant time zone.
