America Chavez aka Miss America is a recent addition to Marvel’s ever-growing pantheon of superheroes. With America all set to make her cinematic debut in the new Doctor Strange movie, it will prompt Marvel fans to read up on her comic history too. A largely optimistic personality, America does manage to make new friends along with every mission.

Hence, her friends can also include the likes of Galactus or a medieval version of Kate Bishop. In other cases, her friendships can also be quite tumultuous as can be explained from cases like her fallout with Carol and Wiccan just being used for her society’s survival.

Gwenpool

Gwenpool is first acquainted with America in the West Coast Avengers comics when Kate Bishop recruits them in the team. While the two don’t interact much, it is hinted that Gwen could have deeper feelings for her teammate.

When Quentin Quire records the team’s exploits for a documentary, she playfully kisses him. Later, she reveals that these kisses mean nothing and she was just attempting to become less of a supporting character in the televised documentation. At this moment, Gwenpool also reveals how she was almost considering kissing America too. Whether this feeling of getting intimate with America came from a genuine place or not, that is open to interpretation. The two continue being friends for as long as they are in the West Coast Avengers.

Carol Danvers

The Carol Danvers version of Captain Marvel mainly became friends with America during the time they served together in Ultimates. An inspiration for America, she continued looking up to the cosmic Avenger until the appearance of the Inhuman known as Ulysses. While Carol began believing Ulysses’ predictions, her folly led to failed missions that ended with War Machine’s death and She-Hulk falling into a coma.

Eventually, Carol and America clashed with each other for their differing ideologies. This prompted the space base to lose power and the prisoners to escape. Hence, not only does the team break down, but so does the two superheroines’ friendship.

Wiccan

Wiccan using his reality warping powers in Marvel Comics.

America is shown to be heavily protective of the Young Avengers comic character Wiccan. While Loki is willing to sacrifice him, America goes against the Asgardian god in a one-on-one battle. Loki reveals that his threat was just a test to ensure America protects Wiccan as the two Avengers do believe that he will become the Demiurge in the future.

The Demiurge is the entity that would create America’s home dimension of Utopia in the future. Hence, more than sharing any emotional connection, America has to be close to Wiccan for her own kind’s needs.

Galactus

Galactus turns out to be an unlikely ally of America’s. While he might not be the best of her friends, he owes a lot to America and her peers from the cosmic Ultimates team for turning her into a Lifebringer (instead of just being the planet-devourer that he is).

In fact, Galactus agrees to help her in secret even when the Ultimates is disbanded because of Carol and America’s internal conflicts. When the First Firmament attempts to turn Galactus back to his destructive roots, America again comes to his aid.

Fuse

Even though Fuse and America haven't conversed a lot, the two share a common trust as members of the West Coast Avengers. His loyalty to America's close friend Kate Bishop (aka the new version of Hawkeye) is another reason that makes America trust him.

If this weren't enough, America also ends up dating his sister Ramone Watts aka Alloy. This romance surprisingly doesn't add any awkwardness towards their bond and Fuse continues being a good friend.

Lisa Halloran

Appearing in Ultimates and America, Lisa Halloran is a paramedic who later joins Damage Control. In the middle of this career transition, she also dates America for a brief while. The two seem to share a few warm moments and share the same bed in a few moments with Lisa giving America enough space to talk about her vulnerabilities.

Even though not much context is offered behind their split, it is largely implied that the exes don't share any bad blood and continue being friends.

Prodigy

David Alleyne and America Chavez have been good friends even before their stint in Young Avengers. Before taking up the mantle of Prodigy as a member of the X-Men, David attended the Sotomayor University which is the same alma mater as America's. Both even created an ancient simulation that retold the stories of certain "Ice Goddesses."

In their campus days, Prodigy also joined forces to counter a cyborg attack. Along with sharing the same superhero team at one time, the two continued to keep a no-nonsense and work-oriented friendship.

Lady Katherine Of Bishop

An alternate version of the Hawkeye Kate Bishop, Lady Katherine is a Robin Hood-like figure on Earth-311. She robs the corrupt Sheriff (the Punisher of this universe) and goes against the authority of God Emperor Doom. As she is sentenced to the structure known as the Shield, she encounters America Chavez from Earth-616 who was sentenced here for throwing an actual Megalodon at the structure!

The two immediately strike a friendship, thanks to their ever-optimistic nature to fight all odds. With Ben Grimm’s help, the archer also escaped the prison along with her new friend. Despite being from different dimensions, America even developed a slight crush on Katherine.

Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop in the comics

Kate Bishop is arguably one of America's closest friends comics such as the latter's self-titled series and West Coast Avengers. Having recruited America in the West Coast Avengers, Kate and her share similar approaches to problem-solving and leadership. With Bishop serving as the leader, America works well as a team player given her experience with the Marvel cosmic team Ultimates.

One of their collective adventures finds them uncovering a cult under Madame Masque that also includes Kate's mother (who has now been turned into a vampire). While the cult prepares to sacrifice America, Kate arrives at the scene and is willing to go against even her mother to protect her friend.

Alloy

Alloy in West Coast Avengers Comic

Ramone Watts aka Alloy is first acquainted with America when they both join the West Coast Avengers. When MODOK unleashes a kaiju in the city, the two Avengers fight closely together and develop feelings soon after the mission. They share a passionate romance, which is unfortunately cut short when America finds her powers to be short-circuiting and growing unstable.

However, Ramone still breaks up with America on amicable terms and the pair still resume their friendship. The biggest sacrifice that Ramone made for America was to cover herself in permanent vibranium exo-armor just so that she could free America from the clutches of the villainous Masters of Evil West Coast.
