According to a noted tipster, AMD could unveil three new Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache CPUs at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show. The news comes just a couple of days after the company unveiled its Ryzen 7000 desktop processors and announced pricing details for the first three SKUs in the lineup. The first batch of AMD's Ryzen 7000 desktop range includes four different CPUs, including the Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X. The new processors are aimed at the gaming and enthusiast market, with the more mainstream chips expected to arrive next year.

The launch of the Ryzen 7000 lineup comes nearly two years after AMD announced its Ryzen 5000 desktop processors for gamers. Based on the Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen 7000-series starts at $299 for the six-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 7600X and goes up to $799 for the 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen 9 7950X. The Ryzen 7000 CPUs will require the AM5 socket and will only be compatible with DDR5 memory. AMD did not say when more Ryzen 7000 chips would launch, but the latest rumor suggests that it could happen in early 2023.

While AMD has yet to announce the details about any of its upcoming 3D V-Cache Zen 4 CPUs, the company did confirm at its event this week that such parts are in development. Regarding what to expect from the new processors, should AMD use the existing 64 MB SRAM (3D V-Cache) stack, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D could have up to 144MB of combined L2 and L3 cache. With dual CCD, that could increase to a whopping 208MB of cache.

AMD's next-gen Ryzen 7000 parts will compete with Intel's upcoming Raptor Lake lineup, which is expected to launch later this year. While the company is yet to announce a launch date officially, a recent leak claimed that Intel would unveil the lineup on Sept. 27 at the Intel Innovation event in San Jose, California. Pre-orders for the new chips will start on the same day. However, the official launch is only expected to happen on Oct. 20. Intel is expected to offer only three SKUs at launch, with the rest possibly making their way to the market next year, like the upcoming 3D V-Cache chips from AMD.
