According to Britannica, Lindsey was born October 18, 1984, in  St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. She is well known for being an American Alpine skier who won four women’s World Cup overall championships from 2008-2010 and in 2012. She is also the all-time leader in women’s World Cup race victories with 82 wins. Lindsay won three Olympic Winter Games medals and eight world championships medals during her international racing career. At just 14 years old, Lindsey won the slalom race at Italy’s Trofeo Topolino competition, making her the first American female to win. During the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy, the skier crashed while training downhill and had to be airlifted to the hospital. Lindsey was afraid she had broken her back and that her career was over due to the injury. Despite her doubts, Lindsey was back on those skis two days later competing for the medal. While she did not win, she was awarded the U.S. Olympic Spirit Award for being courageous enough to ski despite the injury. She went on to win many more medals and championships, but suffered from quite a few other injuries along the way. Lindsey officially retired after she won a bronze medal in the downhill event at the 2019 world championships.

Before she was known as Lindsey Vonn, she was Lindsey Kildow. She married Thomas Vonn, a former Olympian and alpine skier, in 2007, shortly after she suffered a knee injury while training. The couple divorced four years later, but Lindsey still kept her married name. Now, Lindsey has been happily engaged to the NHL's New Jersey Devils defensemen, P.K Subban. The couple began dating in early 2018, but did not confirm the relationship until later that year, in June. According to CNN, Subban proposed to Lindsey in front of her three dogs with an emerald green engagement ring in August 2019. Later that year, in December, Lindsey returned the favor and proposed to Subban as well. "On our 2 year anniversary I returned the favor and asked PK to marry me... and he said yes," she shared to Instagram alongside a series of photos together by their Christmas tree. "Men should get engagement rings too and this is what PK deserves." Not only does she post sweet pictures of the pair to her Instagram, but she also posts pictures of her adorable Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Lucy, and her workout routines.
