Like the rest of The Boysthe Season 2 finale was violent, shocking, and provocative. After a few minor wins against Vought International, Billy Butcher, and his gang suffered innumerable losses, but their hope for bringing Homelander and Stormfront down came from an unexpected place; Ryan Butcher.

As Victoria Neuman stepped into the chaos as the breakout villain no one saw coming, the casualties were great, leaving the Church of the Collective leaderless, numerous elected officials killed, and Ryan without a mother. Ever since the tumultuous finale fans have been buzzing with questions, some of which may pertain to the exciting next season.

Will Homelander Try To Find His Son?

Homelander hugging Ryan in The Boys

Surprising many fans, Homelander seemed to actually enjoy familial visits with his son, and they believe he truly wanted the best for him when he explained to Ryan that the place he'd grown up in was a fabrication. Homelander wanted to have a miniature version of himself, and he felt the only way to achieve that was not to coddle his offspring.

Homelander already tried to abscond with Ryan in Episode 7, but with Mallory's direct influence in the season finale, it will be some time before Homelander sees him again. Will he try to hunt them down? It may be the tipping point to make Homelander finally become a supervillain in Season 3.

How Will Mallory Raise Ryan?

Becca Butcher had fought fiercely to keep her son safe and protected, far away from Homelander and Vought's reach. Her world came crashing down on her when Homelander returned to her life, forcing paternal intimacy on their son Ryan, and using manipulative tactics to turn her son's affections against her.

Becca's dying wish to Grace Mallory was to continue to keep her son safe, which Mallory promised to do by putting him in protective custody. Fans have wondered if he'll receive the same love and affection Becca worked so hard to give him, in the hopes that he wouldn't grow up to be like Homelander. Perhaps he'll even receive superhero training?

What Will Happen to Maeve?

Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve and Antony Starr as Homelander in The Boys season 2

After Maeve rescued Starlight from Vought Tower and crippled Black Noir, fans feared for Maeve's safety in The Seven (especially knowing Homelander's temper). But the series finale found Maeve pull a wild card in the form of footage of Homelander letting civilians die on the plane he was meant to rescue.

Starlight had asked her to leave Vought but she refused, perhaps because she knew she had leverage over Homelander? What will happen now that Homelander has been exposed? Could she become the new leader of The Seven or will their epic battle for supremacy in Season 3 leave her dead?

What Does The Future Hold For Stormfront?

Stormfront The Boys Season 2 Episode 8

Stormfront was chopped down to size literally by Ryan, who left her mutilated and burned in the season finale. Though the creative door was definitely left open for future appearances from the sociopathic supe, she seems to be barely hanging on even with her regenerative abilities.

When pressed about her condition, Homelander explained that she was being held in an "undisclosed location", which could mean anything as far as Vought is concerned. Stormfront was a popular figure in Vought and large swathes of the population responded to her hateful rhetoric, so it remains to be seen how Vought will proceed with her.

Will The Deep Leave The Church Of The Collective?

Chace Crawford as The Deep Kevin in The Boys

The Church of the Collective promised The Deep they'd get him back into The Seven, and he spent the majority of Season 2 making himself into a model believer of their organization. He went so far as to consent to an arranged marriage with a woman who may or may not be a paid actress.

After being cast aside for candidacy into The Seven in favor of A-Train, what will happen to The Deep now? Can he leave the organization even with all of his bank accounts tied over to them? Is his marriage to Cassandra even legal?

What Will A-Train Be Like In The Seven?

A.Train with his arms crossed

At one point The Deep was going to regain a place in The Seven after Stan Edgar and Alastair had a conversation concerning his efficacy. However, since A-Train got his hands on incriminating files on Stormfront, the two men agreed he'd be the better selection.

With A-Train's heart conditions and withdrawal from his substance abuse problems, it will be hard for him to maintain the same level of excellence that Homelander and the rest of Vought demand. Will his status always be in jeopardy?

What Happened To Hughie's Mom?

The Boys Season 1 Is Best Hughie Had More Action

Annie and Hughie had another one of their heart to hearts in the season finale, and Hughie opened up about how hard it was when his mom left, but he still didn't reveal why she left six-year-old Hughie in the care of his father without any explanation.

She left without ever contacting him again or showing any indication that she would, and her departure left a void in Hughie that he explained to Annie caused him to cling to people even as troublesome as Billy. Will fans ever find out what really happened to Hughie's mom?

What's Next For Victoria Neuman?

Without ever even needing to be in the room, she was able to kill dozens of people close to discovering Vought's secrets at the Congressional hearing. No one knows how Victoria Neuman developed her superpowers, and no one knows the possible extent of their damage.

She killed prominent figures like Alastair, head of the Church of the Collective because he possessed "enough dirt to ruin a dozen supes", but what are her true motivations? What's next for her, and is she someone Stan Edgar should be worried about?

What's Going To Happen To The "Dawn of The Seven" Movie?

The Seven posing with their hands on their waists in The Boys

Early in Season 2, The Seven were busy making "Dawn of The Seven", but a lot happened in between the start of production and the end of it, namely A-Train leaving, and Stormfront getting maimed unrecognizably by Homelander's son.

Assuming that the film eventually gets released, will there be a new casting process for actors to pose as new members of The Seven? Will A-Train reshoot his scenes? Will the film end up being drastically recut or scrapped entirely?

Who Will Fill The Seven's Open Positions?

The Seven walking in a line in The Boys

At the beginning of Season 2, Stormfront replaced Translucent, but now that she's been exposed as a Nazi and left for dead, Vought will need to find someone to replace her. The Deep also still can't manage to secure a position in the group, no thanks to the Church of the Collective.

With the current lineup of Homelander, Maeve, Starlight, Black Noir, and A-Train, there are two spots that will need to be filled. Will Vought turn to its pool of potentials, or take the riskier option of giving an adult Compound V in the hopes that they'll become the next best supe and not a murdering psychopath?
