The Boys has quickly and resoundingly become one of the most most popular TV shows of all time, with most people subscribing to Amazon Prime just so they can witness the brilliance of this show.

It's easy to see why this is the case — one need only watch the first episode of The Boys to get hooked, while the first season does a brilliant job of setting up and resolving plot points with the utmost finesse. The second season continues this trend in stride, although some might argue that the weekly release format ended up hurting the show.

Regardless, one can't deny that the characters in The Boys still shone as bright as possible, with Starlight being a rather fitting example in this context. This small-town girl ended up being inducted into The Seven, a lifelong dream of hers... only to realize how much of a sham the entire thing really was. She quickly became one of the most intriguing characters on the show, and most people have gone at length to figure out everything there is to know about this character.

She's The Weakest Member Of The Seven

While this might pain most Starlight fans to hear, the fact of the matter is that she can't even hold a candle to any of the past or current members of The Seven.

Her ability to throw blasts of energy hasn't really shown any major damage potential, and the fact that she needs an electrical source around her at all times serves as a major handicap as well. In a one-on-one fight against any member of The Seven, it's highly possible that Starlight won't get the upper hand at all.

Starlight And Queen Maeve Both Had Extremely Uncomfortable Costumes

The Boys Queen Maeve and Starlight

Fittingly enough, both the actors for Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) have revealed that the costumes they wore were extremely uncomfortable.

In Erin's case, the costume squeezed her torso to the point where she said that she couldn't even feel her organs. Meanwhile, Dominique's corset was so tight that she couldn't even bend over properly.

She's More Assertive And Bold In The Show

One thing to note about Starlight is her outspoken nature, which is stifled in the show for just a few episodes before she finally comes into her own and goes on the record about the various injustices she had to face.

Meanwhile, in the comics, it takes a very look time for Starlight to stop being so meek and actually stand up for herself, even showing A-Train in his place in one scene where he tries to take advantage of her.

She Can Fly In The Comics

While the show might have a more positive portrayal of Starlight in certain cases, there are others where the comic ends up being superior.

This is true in the case of Starlight's powers — in the comics, she has the power of flight as well, which can certainly prove to be quite useful indeed.

Starlight's Costume Designer Is Based On Edna In The Incredibles

An interesting thing to note in The Boys is the manner in which Starlight's costume designer behaves, which should be somewhat familiar to people who've seen their fair share of unique superhero movies.

This costume designer's character is inspired by none other than Edna in The Incredibles, who has become a rather iconic character in the series due to her eccentric mannerisms and behavior.

The Co-Creator Of The Series Tweets In Support Of Starlight In Season 2

Eric Kripke, Co-Creator of The Boys

One of the series' co-creators, Eric Kripke, is certainly quite a vocal person when it comes to the show. He has spoken multiple times about numerous facets of The Boys, which have proven to be quite interesting indeed.

It seems that his contribution hadn't just stopped there — his views can be heard in the show he's created as well, when his actual Twitter username, @therealkripke, is seen tweeting out in support for Starlight after her heartfelt speech at the Believe Expo.

The Actress For Stargirl Actually Auditioned For Starlight As Well

It doesn't take an expert to see that Starlight is inspired by several superheroes in popular culture. The most obvious inspirations are definitely Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, and Stargirl.

The last one is quite interesting since the actress who played Stargirl (Brec Bassinger) had also auditioned for the role of Starlight as well. It would've been quite a unique crossover... but, for better or for worse, Erin Moriarty ended up bagging the role instead.

The Parallels Drawn Between Homelander And Starlight Are Quite Interesting

The Boys Homelander Starlight

Homelander and Starlight are essentially two sides of the same coin. Homelander is praised as a savior of sorts when he's actually a degenerate, while Starlight genuinely wants to be this light of hope instead but is relegated to the role of the "cute hero" in The Seven.

The most interesting parallels can be seen in the glow of their eyes. Homelander's eyes glow red, look menacing in a rather evil manner, and is pretty much always used for destructive purposes... even when he stares down the woman that he was in a relationship with. Meanwhile, Starlight's eyes glow white, look intimidating while not losing that radiance, and can even be triggered during moments of happiness, such as when she sleeps with Hughie.

Her Belief In Her Faith Is Reinvigorated Because Of Butcher

The Boys Season 2 Finale Homelander Faces Billy Butcher

After the events of Season 1, Starlight's starts questioning her faith in God due to the harrowing events she had to face after being pretty much forced out of her bubble once she joins The Seven.

However, this mindset shifts somewhat from a rather unlikely source — Butcher! After seeing this apparently vengeful human being sacrificing his life to save his wife and kid, Starlight realizes that there actually is some good in the world, and decides to alter her warped viewpoint somewhat.

She Helps Maeve Be Less Cynical About Life

Just like Butcher ends up having a positive impact on Annie's life, Maeve also ends up realizing that life isn't all that bad after seeing the energy in Starlight, even after everything she had to bear in such a short span of time.

This is ultimately what causes her to do a complete 180 and actually help The Boys thwart Stormfront's plan and gain definitive leverage over Homelander once and for all.
