Sony will attempt to successfully relaunch the Spider-Man movie franchise with next month's The Amazing Spider-Man. Later this summer, Sylvester Stallone and his fellow action star legends will demonstrate just how much gunfire, explosions, and cheesy one-liners you can cram into a single movie, with The Expendables 2.

We've rounded up new extended TV spots for both film, which can be viewed after the jump. Feel free to let us know your own thoughts about each title, in the comments section.

The Amazing Spider-Man

Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) makes his debut as Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man, which re-explores the origins of the titular costumed superhero from a different perspective. Moreover, director Marc Webb's reboot also follows Pete on a quest to discover the truth behind the disappearance of his biological parents so many years ago.

That task is complicated by such "factors" as Peter's high school sweetheart Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father's ex-partner who transforms into a hideous reptilian monster after an experiment gone-very-wrong.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters around the U.S. on July 3rd, 2012.

The Expendables 2

Sly returns as aging mercenary Barney Ross in Expendables 2, which sees him reunite with his fellow ruffians (Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Jet Li, etc.) when the enigmatic Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists them for what should've been an easy paycheck. Instead, one of the Expendables' own is brutally murdered, inspiring Barney and his team to seek vengeance against the crime lord responsible (Jean-Claude Van Damme).

Expendables 2 also features an extended role for Arnold Schwarzenegger, plus new cast additions such as Chuck Norris, Liam Hemsworth and Yu Nan - along with a different director, in Simon West (Con Air, The Mechanic).

The Expendables 2 charges into U.S. theaters on August 17th, 2012.
