The Amazing Race season 34 cast has been announced with 12 new teams set to take on CBS' long-running $1,000,000 competition this September. Since its first season in 2001, The Amazing Race, which has featured Phil Keoghan as host since the beginning, has evolved to an international franchise with spin-offs in dozens of countries. With scores of adventures and challenges in store for each featured team, the duos in every season must travel the world faster than their competitors while navigating through numerous clues, roadblocks and even problems with directions.
With 33 completed seasons under its belt after season 33's delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Amazing Race season 34 is set to feature multiple first-time changes. Instead of the contestants starting their first leg in the United States, season 34 will kick off in Munich, Germany. In addition, The Amazing Race season 34 will see the removal of non-elimination legs, as well as a surprise game changer set to be revealed during the show's premiere. As the teams advance throughout The Amazing Race season 34, they'll travel to countries including Iceland, Austria, Spain, Italy, France and Jordan.
The upcoming cast of The Amazing Race season 34, which was announced this week, courtesy of TVLine, features one team comprised of two familiar reality television figures: Derek Xaio (24) and Claire Rehfuss (25), who first met while competing in Big Brother season 23. Viewers may also recognize former NFL coach Rex Ryan (59), who is paired up with fellow golf enthusiast Tim Mann (40). The other duos are comprised of engaged couple Aastha Lal (33) and Nina Duong (34), childhood sweethearts Abby Garrett (24) and Will Freeman (25), ballroom dancers Aubrey Ares and David Hernandez (29), long-lost twins Emily Bushnell and Molly Sinert (36), recently-married Glenda and Lumumba Roberts (41), and married couple Michelle Burgos and Luis Colon (34).
In addition, The Amazing Race season 34 will feature father and daughter Linton (50) and Sharik Atkinson (23), brothers Marcus (38) and Michael Craig (30), former NFL cheerleaders Quinton Peron (29) and Mattie Lynch (27), and motivational speakers Rich Kuo (32) and Dom Jones (35). Five teams are from California and two reside in Florida, with other represented states including Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Mexico and Tennessee. Although season 33 was placed on hold for over a year in the middle of the race, The Amazing Race season 34 is back and better than ever with strict COVID-19 policies in place. The newest Amazing Race season, which will premiere directly following the first episode of Survivor season 43, will be especially exciting as the teams will debut with the show's 400th leg. With a few weeks to go, fans of The Amazing Race have plenty of time to get to know the incoming contestants and predict who may go the distance.
