Very few people in reality television have managed to stay as busy amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan. While several shows saw their upcoming seasons postponed or canceled, Keoghan's Tough As Nails developed a steady fanbase. Now, The Amazing Race returns on October 14th while most other shows wait just to film their next seasons. With the cast recently announced, Keoghan is dishing on who he thinks might win the popular race around the world, and who might be eliminated after the first leg.

The cast of the 32nd season of The Amazing Race is among the most diverse in the show's history. Standouts include Gary and DeAngelo, two former NFL players, as well as Aparna and Eswar, siblings of South Asian descent. Diversity in reality television casting has been a hot-button issue in recent months, so it is comforting to see such a representative cast here on The Amazing Race, particularly considering the season was filmed two years ago.

In an interview with Parade, Keoghan discussed the new cast in-depth, revealing which teams he believes can make a deep run this season, and which may suffer an early exit. Keoghan seems particularly excited about Aparna and Eswar, and even emphasized just how patient they have been in waiting for this season to air. Could this spell long-term success for the sibling duo? The host also stressed how prevalent a competitive spirit is throughout this cast, highlighting duos such as Kellie and LaVonne, two former Olympic hurdlers. Because the cast is so competitive, however, Keoghan expressed concern over a few teams who may not be bringing that same energy. He singled out married couple Hung and Chee, who may be viewing their time on the show as a bit too much of a vacation, suggesting they may not be around for the long haul.

Keoghan's insights suggest season 32 of The Amazing Race should be another exciting iteration, even as the show shifts away from its crossover-centric 31st season. While the host remained coy about his exact predictions, his comments on each team help direct fans' attention towards certain teams and away from others. With such a unique cast, however, fans will surely find at least one team to root for this season.

Of course, fans will have to tune in on Wednesday, October 14th to evaluate the cast for themselves.
