Zepp has announced the Amazfit Bip 3 and Amazfit Bip 3 Pro as the new models in its Bip line of smartwatches. The Bip line sits between the Amazfit Band series, which are fitness trackers and the Amazfit GT (GTR and GTS) smartwatches. They offer all of the features of the fitness tracker but in a smartwatch form factor.

Unlike the Amazfit GT series, which is available in square and circle variants, all models of the Bip series have a square/rectangle display. In addition to the models mentioned above, there is also the Amazfit T-Rex series which are rugged smartwatches designed mainly for adventurers. Last month, it announced the Amazfit T-Rex 2 as the newest model of the series.

The Amazfit Bip 3 and Amazfit Bip 3 Pro share a similar design, one that is reminiscent of their predecessor, the Amazfit Bip U Pro. The two wearables pack a bigger display covered with 2.5D glass with an oleophobic coating on top. Both have a plastic bottom case, 20mm silicone quick-release straps, and a 5 ATM water-resistance rating. Zepp has also managed to keep both watches light despite the increase in size. The Bip 3 weighs 33 grams (without the straps) and is available in Black, Blue and Pink, while the Bip 3 Pro weighs 33.2 grams (without the straps) and can be purchased in Black, Pink and Cream.

Only The Bip 3 Pro Has GPS

The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro has a four-satellite GNSS chip

Both the Amazfit Bip 3 and Amazfit Bip 3 Pro have a 1.69-inch 240 ×280 color display. The BioTracker 2 PPG biometric sensor brings 24 hours heart rate monitoring and blood-oxygen-level measurement. In addition to these two, the smartwatches are capable of sleep tracking (including sleep breathing quality) and stress tracking (with a built-in breathing exercise). Like previous models, there is also support for women's health tracking (menstrual and fertility).

Zepp has equipped both smartwatches with support for 60 sports modes, more than anyone is capable of performing. While both can track outdoor sports, only the Amazfit Bip Pro 3 has a GNSS sensor with support for four satellite positioning systems, including GPS. Connection is via Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, and both smartwatches are compatible with iOS and Android devices. Users can control music playback on a connected device from their wrists, in addition to receiving notifications for apps, calls and SMS. There is also a 'Find Phone' feature available on the watch and the ability to work as a camera remote.

The spec sheet mentions a battery life of up to 14 days in typical usage mode and up to seven days for heavy usage mode for both smartwatches. However, the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro should have lesser battery life, considering it has a GPS chip. Nevertheless, the battery life is superior to the Amazfit Bip U Pro, thanks to the bigger battery capacity. Zepp is already selling both smartwatches in the United States, and interested buyers can grab the Amazfit Bip 3 for $59.99 and the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro for $69.99 on the official U.S. website.
