Netflix's original series Altered Carbon took the streaming world by storm in 2018 and recently returned with its second season. It takes place in the fascinating science fiction future of Richard K. Morgan's novel of the same name, where people's consciousnesses are uploaded to "stacks," hard drives that can be un-installed and re-installed in different bodies.

The ability to change bodies, or "sleeves," means that different actors are needed to play different versions of the same character. The protagonist, Takeshi Kovacs, is played in season 1 by Joel Kinnaman and season 2 by Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).

With all this body switching, fans may be wondering how they would fit in the far-flung future of Altered Carbon. Here's what character you are, based on your MBTI personality type.

INTJ: Danica Harlan

Danica Harlan appears in season 2 as the governor of a planet known as Harlan's World. She's ambitious, charming, and cutthroat, and though she has the support of the people, she has a harder time keeping a grip on her political enemies.

When it comes down to it, she's a strategic thinker, someone who has a plan for every eventuality - well, almost every eventuality.

INTP: Reileen Kawahara

Reileen Kawahara, sister of Takeshi Kovacs, is an extremely skilled fighter who gives her brother a run for his money on many occasions. She's not the nicest person - she's extraordinarily arrogant and manipulative, and even engages in torture - but it's impossible to deny her intelligence.

Once she sets her sights on a goal, she's unrelenting in her pursuit of it, even to the death. She sees herself as in many ways better than the rest of the population, something which a lot of INTPs can relate to.

ENTJ: Quellcrist Falconer

Quellcrist Falconer is a legendary figure, the leader of the Envoys, but more than that, she's an actual person - and someone who Takeshi Kovacs loves. Her ability to inspire people and spur them to action didn't just enable her to lead a rebellion but inspired the development of an entire religion, Quellism, which is practiced hundreds of years after her death.

Due to her past as the scientist who first invented stacks, Falconer is also in possession of the innovative qualities of an ENTJ, always finding a way to make things work.

ENTP: Tanaseda Hideki

Tanaseda Hideka is a Yakuza boss who controls organized crime on Harlan's World in season 2. He initially clashes with Takeshi Kovacs. He's honorable and loyal, but only to those people he feels worthy of his respect.

Once he catches wind of an investigation, he can't help but dig deeper - or rather, he can't help but pay Kovacs to dig deeper, displaying his intelligence and intense curiosity.

INFJ: Mister Leung

Mister Leung is an assassin in the service of Reileen Kawahara. He's the most dangerous sort of psychopath - one who believes that everything he's doing is in service of some greater good, some higher power.

He often employs parables to analyze his current situation and asks others if they're also "believers." However, despite his extreme violence, he also displays some of the good qualities of INFJs. He's an idealist, unflinchingly loyal to what he sees as his cause.

INFP: Poe

Poe is the artificial intelligence owner of the Raven Hotel, and later Takeshi Kovacs' friend and close ally. It should seem especially fitting that he's an INFP, the personality type most often described as "poetic," since he's based on real-life poet Edgar Allen Poe.

He is, above all else, concerned with the care and keeping of his guests, going above and beyond the call of duty as a matter of course. He's deeply caring, altruistic, and finds enjoyment in acts of charity.

ENFJ: Laurens Bancroft

Laurens Bancroft is a "meth," an unthinkably rich member of the immortal upper classes. In season 1, he hires Takeshi Kovacs to solve his own murder, after he's re-sleeved in an identical body - one of many clones that he keeps for this very eventuality.

Bancroft has a huge ego and a lot of megalomaniacal tendencies, but he's charismatic and draws people to him in a way few other meths can rival. He's also not all bad - the one line he refuses to cross is the permanent killing of another human being.

ENFP: Samir Abboud

Samir Abboud is the fatherly partner of police officer Kristin Ortega in season 1. Though he's a calm and cautious person, and can always be relied on to provide a level-headed point of view, Abboud is always willing to step up when it comes to protecting his fellow officers and doing what's right.

He's friendly with almost everyone, and in the end, dies protecting his friend and partner - a truly selfless act.

ISTJ: Annabel Lee

Annabel Lee, formerly known as Dig 301, is an artificial intelligence who was originally created to help archaeologists, but changes her function in order to assist Poe in season 2.

As an artificial intelligence, she is practical, fact-minded, and always logical. She can be trusted never to be susceptible to things like emotion, passion, or brain farts.

ISFJ: Vernon Elliot

Vernon Elliot is an ex-Marine, a medic who allies himself with Takeshi Kovacs in season 1. His main mission is to rescue his daughter Lizzie, who's been trapped in a virtual world.

He may not have any of the warm qualities expected in an ISFJ - at least not with Kovacs - but he's tirelessly dedicated to protecting his family, a mission he pursues to the neglect of everything else in his life.

ESTJ: Jaeger

Jaeger is a Praetorian, a soldier who trained Kovacs before the events of Altered Carbon season 1. He was initially Kovacs' ally but turned against Kovacs after he betrayed the Praetorians to join Quellcrist Falconer's Uprising.

He's unflinchingly loyal to his organization, but is also highly corrupt, lying to Kovacs about his sister and later framing him for the death of his partner. Nonetheless, he's unrivaled in his ability to command and manage his squad.

ESFJ: Kristin Ortega

Kristin Ortega is a tough-as-nails police officer, who's very protective and loving when it comes to family - or to Takeshi Kovacs. As a police officer, she's always willing to help those in need but has a naive and idealistic approach to law enforcement, which often puts her at odds with other cops.

She goes above and beyond the call of duty, resorting to unorthodox - and even illegal - methods in order to solve her cases and bring justice to those who need it most.

ISTP: Takeshi Kovacs

Takeshi Kovacs is a former Praetorian, former Envoy, who begins the series by being re-sleeved hundreds of years after his death in a body he doesn't recognize.

He's an almost unrivaled fighter, and is strictly loyal to both his family and the Uprising, but has no problem breaking loyalty when people are disloyal to him. He's a master of many fighting styles, a true ISTP.

ISFP: Miriam Bancroft

Miriam Bancroft, wife of Laurens Bancroft, is one of the über-rich meths that control the future in season 1. She's a charming person, friend to all - as long as "all" only encompasses other meths - and a notorious adulterer, as Kovacs' investigation reveals.

Like all ISFPs, she's always ready to explore and experience new things, though she does most of her exploring in bed.

ESTP: Trepp

Trepp is a bounty hunter on the hunt for Takeshi Kovacs in season 2. She's smart, energetic, and seems to be the sort of person who goes looking for a fight.

She involves herself with Kovacs' escapades on Harlan's World even when she doesn't have to, and though she claims it's for ulterior reasons, she does seem to love the thrill of the chase.

ESFP: Lizzie Elliot

Lizzie Elliot is the daughter of Vernon Elliot, who's trapped in a virtual world until being rescued by Poe. She's a kind and caring person, and though trauma has taught her not to trust, she can build up deep relationships with time and patience.

She's an enthusiastic and spirited person, as evidenced especially by her fighting style, which is almost like a dance.
