Marvel fans were able to see many variants of Loki in his self-titled Disney + series, but now one of his funniest variants is intervening in his life within the comics. Alligator Loki #8 features the titular variant taking a "Spa Day" with some of Marvel's most powerful magic users. However, his role in this day is one that Loki will ultimately end up hating him for.

Loki is best known for his mischief and villainy. He has incredible magical abilities that allow him to shapeshift, teleport, hypnotize foes, cast illusions, and astral project himself - among other things. He is a skilled villain who has teamed up with some powerful - and mystical - Marvel characters, including Dormammu, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch. However, he hardly ever finds himself being truly accepted or trusted by anyone.

Alligator Loki #8 has the creative team of Alyssa Wong, Bob Quinn, and Pete Pantazis. Alligator Loki is spending a relaxing day with Hela, Scarlet Witch, Magik, Clea, and Polaris. From masks to manicures these heroines are giving this variant the royal treatment, but when the original humanoid Loki shows up he is not nearly as welcome. He struts in via a portal and is immediately met with threatening stances and a wordless warning that tells him he isn't wanted around. This leads Loki to glare at his much more adorable variant as he exits.

Loki unwanted by Marvel's magic users during Alligator Loki's spa day

Alligator Loki is proving to be one of the most accepted characters since his recent comic debut. Marvel's young heroes have broken him out of jail and now even Loki's own daughter Hela has chosen this variant over him. This is especially ironic considering the variant doesn't have any known magic abilities at this point. Thus far, he mainly appears to be a sneaky, yet adorable reptile with Loki's trademark headpiece. There is no real reason for him to have earned a spot hanging out with anyone in the Marvel universe based on skill. In many ways, he is proving himself to be slightly more devious than Loki, though seemingly without as much power or a negative reputation.

It's no surprise that Loki wouldn't be accepted due to his general trickery and inability to be trusted. He has been known to betray others, exhibit narcissistic tendencies, and is always playing towards his own ambitions and benefit. However, he is skilled nonetheless and his abilities alone are something that he could be respected for. This doesn't seem to be the actual case. Despite his abilities, even Marvel's magic users prefer non-magical iterations of him instead of the original they have spent years fighting against or alongside. Loki's family disputes and belonging come into question like always, with even his daughter choosing Alligator Loki instead of him. While he may yet prove to be more than his adorable packaging suggests, Alligator Loki is succeeding at getting under Loki's skin.
