Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase on July 23rd not only revealed new games coming to the newest console, but also added existing games to its growing roster of popular titles that will be backwards compatible for the Xbox Series X console. The hour-long event was live-streamed on Twitch and YouTube and revealed many games fans can expect when the newest console in the Xbox family drops sometime in holiday 2020, the same time Sony's PS5 console is also expected to launch.

Microsoft is utilizing a service called Smart Delivery that will allow players to convert their Xbox One games to their Xbox Series X console, free from additional charge. Some new games are projected to launch right before the release of the new console, such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and will be eligible for Microsoft's Smart Delivery service. Other games that fall in this list include DiRT 5, FIFA 21, and Watch Dogs: Legion. Games that have been released previously this year are also expected to get the Series X upgrade, like Gears: Tactics.

The showcase revealed the long-awaited trailer for the next installment in the Fable series, as well as showing new gameplay of Halo: Infinite and new DLC content for The Outer Worlds. The showcase did not confirm a release date for the Xbox Series X, but did outline its specs and estimated FPS between games.
