Netflix's selection of original Korean programming is set to expand with the zombie series All Of Us Are Dead, based on a popular webtoon. Ever since director George A. Romero's 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead invented the zombie as we know it today, the flesh-eating undead have been a consistent staple of the horror genre. Since 2010, the biggest carrier of the zombie pop culture torch has of course been AMC's The Walking Dead, which while not as popular as it used to be, is still a big deal.

The last decade has also brought with it lots of other zombie movies and shows, some comedic, some dramatic, and even some that attempt to be both. The zombie has also caught on in a major way over in South Korea, with the best example of that success being 2016's Train to Busan, widely regarded as one of the best zombie movies in recent memory, regardless of country or language. Train to Busan became so big in its native land that it even managed to become a crossover smash in North America.

Another aspect of pop culture that's become very big in South Korea as of late is the "webtoon," basically what those stateside would refer to as a digital comic. It's one such webtoon, the title of which translates to Now At Our School, that Netflix's upcoming series All Of Us Are Dead is based. Here's everything we know about the show so far.

This early in pre-production though, it's unclear when All Of Us Are Dead will premiere, although like all Netflix originals, it will release worldwide on the same day.

As one might imagine, Now At Our School concerns a group of students who become trapped inside their high school after a zombie contagion quickly takes over the other students and teachers. It's unclear how closely All Of Us Are Dead will stick to the source material, but Netflix is touting the webtoon's success enough to suggest that the adaptation will be at least mostly faithful. Netflix also calls the series an "exciting new chapter in the Korean zombie genre," which sets expectations high from fans.
