Kim Kardashian is a Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum who is growing weary of her ex-husband Kanye West's endless digs at her. She hoped for an amicable divorce and planned to peacefully co-parent their four children with her famous ex. While she's done everything in her power to try and be the bigger person, nothing she does seems to inspire Kanye to stop putting her down. On Friday, February 4, Kim finally addressed Kanye's obsession with controlling the public narrative, and the way it hurts everyone involved.

Kim and Kanye's relationship was once a fairytale romance. Kim supported Kanye's every move, from fashion shows to stadium concerts and Sunday Services. In turn, Kanye redefined Kim's fashion by encouraging her to wear neutral tones and casual pieces, such as sweatpants. His influence was obvious in all of the Kardashian clothing lines, from Good American and SKIMS to Scott Disick's Talentless brand. Kimye owned Hollywood for half a decade. Kim had two complicated pregnancies and took a massive leap of faith when she chose to have her third and fourth children with the help of surrogates. However, as Kanye, who lives with bipolar disorder, began acting out, Kim made the call to file for divorce. Kim wanted to share her day-to-day life with her partner and access emotional support. Kanye lived in another state and repeatedly made her feel uncomfortable.

When the separation was still brewing, Kanye criticized Kim's sexy persona and fashion choices, but she pointed out that he actually played a role in building her provocative personal brand. Kanye also called out Kim and Kris Jenner after his notorious South Carolina presidential rally. When he revealed that he encouraged Kim to consider having an abortion when she was pregnant with their eldest daughter, North West, Kim wanted to get Kanye psychological help for his bipolar disorder. He had a tendency to make impulsive decisions during manic episodes. His interpretation of these efforts was that Kris Jenner and Kim wanted to lock him up. Kanye told People Magazine, "Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughter's life yesterday." When his texts went unanswered by Kim amid the crises, he also labeled the women "white supremacists."

Kanye has also taken aim at Kim's choice to let North use TikTok via a joint account that Kim is currently supervising. He's repeatedly voiced his disapproval of North having a social media presence, as well as wearing makeup at a young age, which she did on the page over Halloween. Most recently, Kanye dissed Kim on his new track, "Easy." Kanye rapped, "I got love for the nannies, but real family is better / The cameras watch the kids, y'all stop takin' the credit." Kim resented the jab at her parenting. From the outside looking in, it appears that Kim is the primary caretaker of their children, who gets help from nannies. Kim's budding relationship with comedian Pete Davidson seemed to escalate Kanye's frustration and his tendency to lash out, although Kanye's been linked to many women since the separation. Kanye used "Easy" to attack Pete Davidson, saying he would beat, "Pete Davidson's Ass."

Kim finished her statement, making it clear that she wanted to handle all matters privately through their attorneys, and noting that Kanye had yet to respond to the third attorney he had hired after the filing process started. Hopefully, Kanye can look back at his track record of publicly shaming the mother of his children and approach their relationship differently in the coming year. Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans have always wanted the best for all parties.
