Released on April 8, 2022, the Amazon Prime Video original movie All The Old Knives is a political spy thriller starring Chris Pine, Thandiwe Newton, Laurence Fishburne, and a host of talented international actors. The story concerns two former lovers and co-workers who reunite when a cold case from 2012 involving a hijacked airliner is reopened, forcing them to uncover a grand conspiracy while reconciling their personal relationship.
While the topline leads have participated in some of the biggest movies and TV shows in recent history, the skilled supporting ensemble has also stood out in various fictional projects in the U.S. and abroad.
Chris Pine - Star Trek (2009)

If fans don't recognize Chris Pine as Steve Trevor from the DCEU then most will certainly do so from his most memorable role as Captain Kirk in three massive Star Trek movies and counting. As ubiquitous as it gets in mainstream cinema, Pine plays CIA agent Henry Pelham in All the Old Knives, a man balancing his career with his past feelings for Celia (Newton).
As for Star Trek, Pine lends certain humanity as the measured captain who fearlessly leads his crew headlong into peril while keeping the galaxy safe. Now currently in pre-production for an untitled 4th Star Trek film slated for 2023, it'd be harder not to recognize Pine than vice versa.
Thandiwe Newton - Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

Thandiwe Newton stars as Celia Harrison in the new spy thriller, doing her best to solve the cold case with her former beau, Henry. While Newton earned a much-deserving Primetime Emmy for her role on HBO's Westworld, her role as Val in Solo: A Star Wars story was seen by far more people and didn't require a subscription to do so.
As it suggests, Solo is more or less the origin story of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), a young smuggler who comes of age and rises to prominence in a galaxy far, far away. Newton steals her scenes as Val, Beckett's (Woody Harrelson) criminal wife willing to do anything to protect her close ones.
Laurence Fishburne - The Matrix (1999)

Laurence Fishburne plays Vick Wallinger in All the Old Knives, Henry's CIA boss with his own shady agenda. Of course, it'd be hard to come up with a more universally-known Fishburne film than The Matrix, in which he played the iconic role of Morpheus in three films.
Sadly missing from the newest franchise entry released in 2021, Morpheus is the cryptic oracle who gives Neo the option to take the life-altering blue or red pill, serving as a sort of mystical guiding force who advises him throughout his journey. With solid turns in John Wick and Black-ish, Fishburne remains busy but will likely always be remembered as Morpheus.
Jonathan Pryce - The Two Popes (2019)

In All the Old Knives, Jonathan Pryce plays Celia's CIA mentor Bill Compton, a man who may or may not be trusted. Fans of Netflix's smash hit The Crown will certainly recognize Pryce's face when he joins seasons 5 and 6 as Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Until then, Netflix users ought to recall Pryce going toe-to-toe with Anthony Hopkins in The Two Popes, for which Pryce earned the lone Oscar nod of his career. A great philosophical debate between two opposing religious leaders, Pryce owns the role of Pope Francis, a progressive-leaning leader who challenges his predecessor's traditional ways of thinking.
David Dawson - The Last Kingdom (2015-2022)

English actor David Dawson portrays a man named Owen Lassiter in the Amazon spy thriller, marking his feature film debut. With most of his acting credits coming by way of British television, his most prominent part and biggest character arc came in the historical Viking series The Last Kingdom.
The Last Kingdom concerns King Alfred the Great (Dawson) as he rises to the throne when belligerent Nordic forces storm his castle. A perfect companion piece to Vikings: Valhalla and The Northman, Dawson takes center stage for the first three seasons and proves his leading man capabilities.
Jonjo O'Neill - Pennyworth (2019-)

Irish actor Jonjo O'Neill plays a guy named Ernst Pul in All the Old Knives, another enigmatic character in the world of espionage. Looking at his filmography, fans will almost certainly recognize him the most for playing the wicked Aleister Crowley in DC's Pennyworth.
The Epix/HBO Max production follows Bruce Wayne's iconic butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), and how he came of age in the 1950s and 1960s, fusing historical events with fictionalized drama to create an exciting new world and alternate history. As the occultist Crowley, O'Neill plays the part with memorable guile.
Orli Shuka - Gangs Of London (2020-)

Orli Shuka plays Ilyas Shishani in the film, a Chechen informant who may be involved in the airline hijacking Henry and Celia are trying to solve. The British-Albanian actor is most known for his role as Luan in the stellar British crime drama series Gangs of London.
Shuka appears as Luan in several episodes of the acclaimed Sky original series, playing the ruthless head of the Albanian mafia who makes swift power moves in London as the Wallace and Dumani families try to keep a stronghold on the bustling metropolis.
Corey Johnson - Morbius (2022)

A consummate character actor, Corey Johnson has logged over 120 big and small screen credits in his day. In All the Old Knives, he plays an intelligence liaison named Karl Stein who has dastardly motives. Some may recognize Johnson from Captain Phillips and The Bourne Legacy, but most will spot his recent role as Mr. Fox in the comic book movie Morbius.
The dark MCU tale follows Michael Morbius (Jared Leto), an antihero who uses his biochemical expertise to become a vampiric avenger of sorts. Johnson plays Mr. Fox, a mercenary created specifically for the film.
Ahd Kamel - Collateral (2018)

Saudia Arabian actress Ahd Kamel plays the role of Leila Maroof in the spy film, doing so fresh off her vital stint in the acclaimed Netflix miniseries Collateral. Starring Carey Mulligan as a British detective out to solve the murder of a pizza delivery man, the show unveils a grand conspiracy at the highest levels of the justice system.
Kamel plays Fatima Asif, the sister of the slain pizzaman who vows to find Abdullah's murder and helps uncover a much darker and deeper connected crime. Ahd Kamel also starred in the charming Saudi Arabian comedy Wadjda in 2012.
Oscar Coleman - Bridgerton (2020-)

In All the Old Knives, Oscar Coleman plays young Evan Favreau, a boy stuck on the airliner with his father and sister. Believe it or not, in his only other acting credit, Coleman appeared in the first season of Netflix's runaway hit period drama Bridgerton.
In the flashback sequence that depicts Simon Basset (Rege-Jean Page) at age four, Coleman appears in the role with a youthful resemblance to his adult counterpart. As one of Netflix's most-viewed original series, chances are people must have caught a glimpse of Coleman even if it didn't register at the time.
