Quick Links

God of War: Ragnarok is built upon references to Norse mythology. One of the lesser references involves the ravens of Odin, Huginn, and Muninn, who bring information to Odin. In God of War: Ragnarok, they are his spies, and one of Kratos' quests is to kill them all. There are forty-eight ravens scattered across the realms.

Since Odin is a key villain in God of War: Ragnarok (one of many departures from the original mythology), taking out his ravens has narrative importance. The more ravens players collect, the more legendary chests they can unlock in Niflheim by the large white tree full of ravens. The first three chests unlock every six kills and give parts of the Raven Tears armor. The other three unlock every ten kills and bestow heavy runic attacks. Players can track these ravens by hearing their constant cawing in the most unexpected places.
