Now that a third trilogy for one the biggest media franchises on the planet has concluded, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is looking to parody the entire mainline series. The previous LEGO Star Wars game focused on Episode VII: The Force Awakens, but The Skywalker Saga looks to begin a new, brick-filled era in the long-running series by making significant gameplay advancements. Of course, this will all be accompanied by a massive cast of LEGO-ified Star Wars characters, but the line-up on launch won't include every character, with more coming in DLC packs.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will supposedly have a cast of nearly 300 playable characters, though not all have been identified. The game was initially revealed way back at E3 2019, and only recently re-emerged with another trailer at Gamescom 2021's Opening Night Live show. Players will have the opportunity to play through levels from each of the nine movies in The Skywalker Saga, chronicling the rise and fall of Darth Vader, followed by the continued legacy of Luke Skywalker.

Much like the rest of the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga playable cast, the exact details of the DLC character packs are unknown, but thanks to retail listings like GameStop's, there's an idea of what the bonus content might entail. It appears the packs will be purchasable on launch day for anyone that bought the standard edition, but all six come in the form of a "Character Collection bundle" for those who buy the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Deluxe Edition.

LEGO Star Wars DLC - The Mandalorian Packs 1 & 2

The Mandalorian and Grogu, running from something.

Disney+'s The Mandalorian has apparently been so popular that it warrants two separate DLC packs to include its characters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It's unclear how the two will be different, but they may be divided along the line that separates the two seasons of the show. Regardless, there are plenty of characters from The Mandalorian that could be included: Din Djarin aka Mando aka The Mandalorian, Grogu aka Baby Yoda, Moff Gideon, IG-11, an older, post-Sarlacc version of Boba Fett, and more.

LEGO Star Wars DLC - Rogue One

LEGO Star Wars Rogue One DLC Pack

Rogue One was the first spin-off film to use the "A Star Wars Story" qualifier, telling the story of the rebels who stole the schematics to the Death Star (the first one). Rogue One wasn't originally planned for DLC, but it's got almost exclusively new characters that could get their own digitized mini-figures: Jyn Erso, Chirrut Îmwe, Cassian Andor, Orson Krennic, K-2SO, Saw Gerrera, and more.

LEGO Star Wars DLC - Classic Characters

LEGO Star Wars Classic Characters DLC Pack

There aren't any specific on what exactly the Classic Characters DLC pack will include, but it could be a collection of the original, yellow skin-toned LEGO mini-figures or designs from previous LEGO Star Wars games, like The Complete Saga, which was the last game to depict the entire series before the advent of the Sequel Trilogy. The second options seems a bit more likely, since developer TT Games would already have those character models for reference, and wouldn't have to start from scratch.

LEGO Star Wars DLC - Solo

LEGO Star Wars Solo DLC Pack

As Han Solo's origin story, Solo: A Star Wars Story could provide LEGO Star Wars with variants of characters already in the game, such as Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo and Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian. Other original characters like Qi'ra, L3-37, Dryden Vos, and Tobias Beckett are also likely. Darth Maul's Solo cameo could also lead the Sith to have a second variant (with robotic legs), but he will already be heavily featured in the base game.

LEGO Star Wars DLC - The Bad Batch

The Bad Batch in a corridor

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is the most recent animated Star Wars series to air on Disney+, and follows the eponymous task force of genetically modified clone troopers in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. The entire Bad Batch - Crosshair, Echo, Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker - is likely to appear in this DLC pack for The Skywalker Saga, as well as Omega, a female clone of Jango Fett.

Skywalker Saga DLC - Trooper Pack

Those who pre-order the deluxe edition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will also be given early access to the Trooper character pack, which will unlock several unique stormtroopers for use in the game. Said pack includes the Death Troopers and Shore Troopers from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Incinerator Troopers from 2015's Star Wars Battlefront, and Solo's Range and Mimban troopers. This brings the total number of Skywalker Saga DLC packs to six.
