The violet hue of Artifacts in God of War: Ragnarok entices players to explore for these collectibles in order to unlock an elusive trophy name, "The Curato," a reward well received after traveling to one of the later realms in the game, Vanaheim. Vanaheim is unique with its Artifacts, as though many of these collectibles are found generally scattered around the map, some items are found through starting specific sidequests called Favors. Unfortunately, between the numerous regions within every realm of the game, players can find it confusing to detect the exact location of the desired objects, even with a useful map indicating the presence of an Artifact nearby.

Along the inevitable traversal of Vanaheim, players can discover additional Artifacts in sets from previous realms, Easter Eggs to other PlayStation titles called Poems of Kvasir, as well as distinct items that tie into the lore of the Vanir from the realm, called Family Crests. Following the Favor Casualty of War allows players to gain experience for their desired build in God of War: Ragnarok and counts toward the total Artifacts collected through the items chanced upon during this journey. Among the designated locations for finding the Artifacts, players should consider traveling toward The Southern Wilds, Freyr's Camp, Noatun's Garden, The Veiled Passage, the Vanir Shrine, along the River Delta, within The Jungle, along the Sinkholes, and inside the Vanaheim Crater Area to collect every item.

Smash Through Stone to Collect a Poem in The Southern Wilds

God of War Ragnarok Vanaheim Realm Through River Delta Traveling with Atreus

Alongside an arena with poisonous sacks close to the marketplace within the Southern Wilds location in Vanaheim rests cracked stone with a blue marking that players are able to break through if smashing in from a certain height. While this region can only be accessed at night, the upper routes alongside this broken stone are still visible, as it looks relatively similar to one of God of War: Ragnarok's Dragur holes. On the left side of these upper sections, players will see a broken shield that can be moved in such a way that allows Kratos to reach a tower in the middle, an ideal vantage point to barrel downward through the weakened rock. Finally, the Artifact will be through the broken floor, a Poem named "Upon Pursuing a Place Not Marked By Maps," a reference to Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Find Family Crests Along Rivers and Gardens

There are six Family Crest Artifacts players can collect throughout Vanaheim, each representing a certain Vanir and their history. Not only can players learn more about the realm's history and mythology in God of War: Ragnarok, but they can also sell these Crests to Brok or Sindri for a hefty amount of Hacksilver, an in-game currency. The Freya and SkirnirCrests are very easy for players to discover, with the former being to the right of the Mystic Gateway preceding the River Delta area. The latter lies in a similar position, near a different Mystic Gateway close to Freyr's Camp, an item players may see exiting the portal immediately in front of the new location.

Past the River Delta and closer to Noatun's Garden, players may find the Family Crest of Hoenir, the god of silence. In the back of the garden region sits a set of ruins with an interactable mirror leading deeper inside the desolate structures. Players that travel to the eastern section of these ruins within this unique realm in God of War: Ragnarok can find the Artifact close to a set of totems before a traversable wall. Not too far away, in the center of the River Delta, Odin's Crest sits on the leftmost side of the beach, which hosts this large piece of nature right before the entrance to further exploration in the area.

Gather Remaining Crests in Shrines and Passages

Once players have fully traveled the River Delta, the northern end of the body of water leads to The Veiled Passage, available at the second beach alongside this area. The Family Crest of the poet Kvasir lies past a flower that shoots projectiles at the player, directly behind a destructible wall made of wood. Unfortunately, there are more of God of War: Ragnarok's various enemies before reaching this flower, so players should be prepared to enter combat to collect this Artifact.

The final Family Crest, belonging to Hylii, can be found in the Vanir Shrine beyond the Passage, which players may only unlock through the activation of runes at the top of the Cliffside Ruins. A drawbridge opens up this section of the map when players revisit, but only after the Blades of Chaos are used in conjunction with the Leviathan Axe to lower the bypass the obstacles preventing the contraption from lowering. Once this small puzzle is overcome, the Artifact can be seen past two archways across the bridge, glowing at the end of the Shrine in that direction.

Travel Through Jungles and Sinkholes For More Poems

Until players complete the "Creatures of Prophecy" quest in God of War: Ragnarok's expansive story, The Sinkholes are unable to be traversed. A sub-boss called the Crag Jaw features an arena where the "Eastern Specter" Kvasir Poem is located, past a group of brambles that can be set ablaze in the northwest corner of the battlegrounds. Slipping beyond the gap now available, players will find the Artifact lying at the feet of a dead warrior after heading left from the passage's exit and upstairs to the right afterward.

The final Poem, "An Organization: In the Future," only appears in The Jungle at night unless players have released the waters of Vanaheim through the "Return of the River" Favor, an optional sidequest. To the south of the Celestial Altar, in the western portion of The Plains, players may cross a river or jump over stone gaps before reaching a set of tunnels to the south. Traveling through these caverns leads to another gap, which can be avoided by climbing a wall to the player's left. The collectible from God of War: Ragnarok sits in the right-hand corner of the next platform, once again at the feet of a deceased fighter.

Complete Special Favors For Additional Artifacts

Counting as both Favors and Artifacts, the items collected during the "Casualties of War" sidequest count toward the total number of Artifacts needed for the trophy. These artifacts are found after the mission activates after players talk to a spirit near the section where they would fight a dragon near the Mystic Gateway in The Sinkholes, only available after players acquire the Draupnir Spear. This quest has ten items, all residing in The Plains, The Jungle, and The Sinkholes within the Vanaheim Crater Area. While some are protected by God of War: Ragnarok's smaller bosses and others lie past groups of other enemies, players should consider where they have fought certain groups within these three sections to discover the remaining Artifacts.

Out of the ten items, each is paired in sets, so players can only find one part before another. For example, The Stein is located in The Jungle, where players activate the water well and unlock the second half of the item, as seen further into The Plans, where players fought The Dreki dragon. The Toy sits near the Mystic Gateway, past enemies in The Jungle, and past two ogres throwing rocks further down the river. The Hourglass was the first of these Artifacts at the aforementioned place in The Sinkholes, with the second half being at the end of the tunnel leaving this location. The Brooch sits in the middle of The Plains, and also the cliffs protected by a mini-boss within the region. The final Artifact in Vanaheim, The Scroll, can be found near a ghost in the north-west of The Plains within a cave, with its next piece being found once players use the Spear to blow up three golden stones nearby to collect every Artifact in God of War: Ragnarok's Vanaheim realm.
