Teen dramas have always been a huge staple in primetime TV. As far back as Beverly Hills 90210 and One Tree Hill, shows have focused on teens and their rise to adulthood. But having a successful African American show has been hard. The CW Network came in full blast with All American. In just two seasons, it has integrated two different social aspects of California with ease.

Heading into its third season, and thanks to the huge success it has seen on Netflix funding the COVID-19 pandemic, fans are clamoring for more. Here are the 10 best episodes of All American, according to IMDb.

Speak Ya Clout (Season 2, Episode 2) - 8.5

Spencer needs to know who this new kid is that his estranged father Corey has around. Not only that, but it seems that Darnell is the new starting quarterback at Crenshaw High, which makes matters worst between Spencer and his father. Meanwhile, Coop deals with issues while being back at home.

Layla is living in a hotel and putting up a pretty good front for everyone when she does indeed need help as she appears to be fighting a case of depression.

Homecoming (Season 1, Episode 8) - 8.5

Shawn is ready to move on with his life but Laura needs him to snitch on Tyrone. Needless to say, Shawn has a plan that he hopes will get him and Coop out of a tight situation. Spencer, being the kind-hearted person he is, blames himself for all the bad things happening to everyone close to him.

Shawn has a way out and goes to Tyrone as a man. But Tyrone has other plans. After a meeting in which Shawn tells Tyrone he wants out, Shawn is elated to believe it all went his way. Heading home though, Shawn is gunned down right in front of his own house.

Protect Ya Neck (Season 2, Episode 10) - 8.6

Olivia and Asher are having a hard time keeping schedules straight. With Olivia's Cotillion taking place, she wants Asher to be there but he decides to blow it off for football practice. No big deal because Spencer is there for the rescue. But one good moment is ruined by what happens when the event is over.

Walking Olivia to her car, gunshots are fired and Spencer saves Olivia's life by taking the bullets himself. The person responsible is Tyrone as he's vowed to seek vengeance on anybody that Coop holds close to her heart.

Crossroads (Season 2, Episode 11) - 8.6

After the shooting outside the Cotillion, Spencer is rushed to the hospital where he's in pretty bad shape. With a teenager laying in the bed bleeding out, no one wants to touch him for fear that he's a gangbanger. But one African American nurse knows better and forces the doctor to do his job.

Coop, finding out Spencer is shot, is still having a hard time seeing her best friend thinking that it's all her fault. Coach Baker is in the hot seat again with the boosters pleading for his removal. The players come to his aid and help save his job.

The Art Of Peer Pressure (Season 2, Episode 13) - 8.6

Spencer is ready to get back on the field but is he healed? With colleges pulling their offers, Spencer believes this is his last shot to prove that he still has it. Coach Baker and his mom do not want him to put the rest of his career in jeopardy but Spencer reinjures himself and has to come clean.

Olivia goes to her father and tells him about the steroid situation with Asher. Meanwhile, Coop is trying to focus on her music with Layla but can't seem to shake the issues that are going on in her neighborhood regarding Tyrone.

Who Shot Ya (Season 2, Episode 14) - 8.6

The police are looking for Coop which puts Spencer on high alert. A videotape surfaces that shows Coop with a gun near the murder scene, but there's a twist to the story. Meanwhile, Olivia is wondering if Asher will do the right thing and protect her father after he took the rap for the steroids found in the locker room.

Jordan is blaming his mother for Simone leaving the house when the truth is, Jordan has feelings for her and is having a hard time dealing with it.

All Eyez On Me (Season 1, Episode 11) - 8.6

Spencer talks to Billy on All American

The District Combine is here and the kids are strutting their stuff. Spencer wants to impress and Jordan, after is grandfathers' words, is starting to doubt himself. Meanwhile, Olivia learns that Asher is living in his car after the fallout between him and his dad.

ASU wants Baker and Spencer as part of a package deal but really chose Baker because they believe that Spencer is a troubled kid and Baker can help keep him in line.

Legacy (Season 1, Episode 13) - 8.7

Who or what inspires Spencer James? That's the question Spencer was asked to answer in his essay. Spencer had to dig deep and get the true meaning of what drives him. While he wanted to blame his teacher for making it tough, Spencer had to realize that it was a push for him to be more than what he sees for himself.

The big question of where has Spencer's dad been all these years is about to be revealed. Corey shows up at the game and by the time Spencer and Grace get home, Corey is waiting for them.

Championships (Season 1, Episode 16) - 8.7

With the State Championship on the line, Beverly Hills High takes on Spencer's old team Crenshaw High. During the game, Spencer hits Chris who goes down but can't feel his legs after the hit. Corey helps Spencer through the hit and he then refocuses on the game. Beverly Hills wins but there is still damage.

Billy Baker quits, Jordan and Spencer settle their difference, and Corey wants to know if Dillion is his or Billy's child. Meanwhile, Coop does what she has to do to get Tyrone off the streets.

Coming Home (Season 2, Episode 7) - 8.9

By far, the most gut-wrenching episode in the short history of All American. Spencer, his mother, brother, and Darnell learn the truth about why Corey skipped town again. This time, they searched to help him. They find Corey in a cabin and try to convince him to come home and live out the rest of this time with family.

Corey and Spencer come to terms about their past while amending what was lost between them. Corey decides to leave with his family and while they're packing to go home, his body gives out and he passes away.
