Alison Pill appears to have joined the cast of American Horror Story season 7. The popular anthology series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk has explored an array of different horror tropes in the past, like haunted houses and hotels, asylums, witch covens and freak shows, now the series is exploring a new kind of horror for its seventh season -- politics based around the very real U.S. 2016 election.

While Murphy has been quiet surrounding details on the new season, so far we know that series regulars Evan Peters (with his blue hair), Sarah Paulson, Adina Porter, and Cheyenne Jackson will be returning along with newcomers Billie Lourd from Scream Queens, Billy Eichner host of Billy on the Street (who will be playing a character connected to Paulson's who wears "mysterious tank tops"), Leslie Grossman and Colton Haynes.

We also know that this season will be connected to the fourth season American Horror Story: Freak Show but in present day, that the season will be set during the aftermath of the presidential election with the first episode taking place on election night and that the season will be representative of both sides of the political divide, while highlighting groups of people Murphy believes are ignored by the current administration and are fearful for their lives.

Now, in a new tweet from AHStoryNet, which has been sharing photos of the cast filming the new season, it appears that actress Pill may have joined the cast, as she's been seen on set in front of a building called 'The Butchery on Main'.

Pill is a Canadian actress who is best known from her roles in The Book of Daniel , Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Milk, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Midnight in Paris, and Zoom, and the HBO drama The Newsroom, on which she played Maggie Jordan for three seasons. While we have no information about the character Pill may be playing, from the photos it looks like she may be playing a normal person (no creepy clowns or rubber-suited men here), but no one in American Horror Story is really "normal" so we will have to wait until a trailer gets released, or there is an official announcement from FX Networks to see whether or not Pill has indeed joined the cast and jus who she will be playing.
