Although widely panned as the worst film a franchise that has influenced the entire horror genre, Alien 3 does have its moments. It took a completely different approach from the two films that preceded it and set the story on a remote prison planet with an alien stowaway to scare audiences with.

The script isn't perfect, but it is loaded with a host of memorable quotes that have stood the test of time thanks largely to a solid cast of characters that will long be remembered across the franchise. Here are the best quotes of the entire film listed in chronological order.

"This Is Rumor Control, Here Are The Facts."

Superintendent Andrews in Alien 3

Superintendent Andrews ran Fury 161 like a tight ship and a well-oiled machine rolled into one. He knew how to balance the psychopathic natures of his prison inmates with their innate religiosity to maintain a sense of balance. In the back of his mind, Andrews knew that this balance was testy at the best of times.

To compensate, he made himself official rumor control to establish facts and set a desired narrative designed to keep the prisoners from becoming agitated. This became his go-to catchphrase when Ripley's EEV crash-landed on the planet, especially because her gender was bound to tempt some of the convicted rapists. It was a slight bit of tense drama found in other films that take place within a prison.

"We Commit These Bodies To The Void, With A Glad Heart! For Within Each Seed, There Is The Promise Of A Flower."

dillon character alien 3

When it was time to say goodbye to Hicks and Newt following their deaths in the EEV crash, it was none other than prison inmate and unofficial leader Dillon who stepped up to deliver a moving speech at their eulogy. At the same time, a brand new xenomorph was ready to burst forth from its host and begin a killing campaign.

Dillon uttered these words before the alien was birthed and gained balance on its legs. This quadruped variant would prove to be much more lethal and aggressive than its bipedal predecessors which added to its already mysterious nature. It also made Dillon's words all the more ominous and chilling.

[Dillon] "Do You Have Any Faith, Sister?" [Ripley] "Not Much." [Dillon] "Well, We've Got A Lot Of Faith Here. Enough Even For You."

Ellen Ripley in Alien 3

Knowing full well that the inmates of Fury 161 were the absolute worst of the bunch, Ripley nevertheless ignored warnings by Superintendent Andrews to stay away from them. She shaved her head and joined them in the commons room, unwilling to let herself be quartered off.

Her mingling with the prisoners ruffled many feathers, including that of Dillon, a convicted murderer and rapist. She thanked him for his eulogy before he snapped back at her in an attempt to intimidate her and get her to leave, but she didn't budge. Frustrated, Dillon and Ripley had this exchange before the former tried once more to get her to understand just how much danger she was in.

"At Least I Got Off The Morphine."

Clemens from Alien 3

Ripley's sexual relationship with Clemens never made it far into full-on trust territory, especially given the events Ripley had been through leading up to her arrival on Fury 161. Though she sensed that Clemens was an honorable and good man, she couldn't reconcile the prison barcode tattooed on the back of his head.

Clemens decided to let his guard down and come clean by telling her about his morphine addiction and how it cost the lives of eleven fuel plant workers after he prescribed the wrong dosage of painkiller. With tears brimming in his eyes, he attempted to lighten the conversation with this quote in an attempt to find some sort of silver lining.

"I'm Telling You, It's Here!"

Alien 3 Quotes – Here

Ripley had just elevated her relationship with Clemens after his shameful confession before the alien attacked and killed him in brutal fashion. With no escape, the creature cornered Ripley and prepared for a kill before realizing that she was impregnated with an alien queen. Not willing to risk sacrificing the matriarch, the alien grabbed Clemens's body and disappeared into a ventilation shaft.

She raced to the commons area where Andrew was issuing a conference and told them of what happened, but Andrews was fed up and ordered her back to the infirmary. Ripley reacted immediately with this quote just moments before the alien grabbed Andrews and dragged him into the vent shaft with a jump scare that stands as good as any in horror movie history.

"I Think You've Got One Inside Of You."

Ripley's bio-scan in Alien 3

Over the course of the film, Ripley realized that something was seriously wrong and set out to run a bio-scan on herself to find out if there was any internal bleeding or trauma. Aaron showed up to help assist her with the procedure by running the bio-scan and keeping an eye out for any signs of trouble.

He was shocked to find a gestating xenomorph in Ripley's chest which was clearly visible on the viewfinder. When he uttered this quote to inform her of the situation, Ripley asked what it looked like. Aaron could only respond with "Horrible."

"You've Been In My Life So Long, I Can't Remember Anything Else."

Ripley confronts her fears in Alien 3

Realizing that the alien would not kill her due to her impregnation, Ripley decided to take the fight to it, rather than the other way around. She descended into the bowels of the complex to try and hunt for the alien by using her experience regarding its patterns.

Whether by accident or due to her impregnation sickness, Ripley hallucinated a vision of the creature and uttered this quote before attacking it. She struck a metal pipe that caused thousands of louse to spill out before the real xenomorph showed up on the scene, attracted by the sound.

"When They First Heard About This Thing, It Was 'Crew Expendable.' The Next Time They Sent In Marines. They Were Expendable Too. What Makes You Think They're Gonna' Care About A Bunch Of Lifers Who Found God At The Ass-End Of Space?"

Ripley's pitch in Alien 3

Ellen Ripley had a talent for stating the obvious in terms that even the most stubborn people could understand. She used some of that talent when she and Dillon tried to convince the rest of the prisoners to join them in a plan to capture and destroy the xenomorph that was killing them.

Aaron attempted to convince them that the incoming Weyland-Yutani rescue ship would take care of everything and give them free passage home, but Ripley knew the company better than anyone. In blunt terms, she laid down the reality of their situation.

"We're All Gonna' Die. The Only Question Is How You Check Out. Do You Want It On Your Feet, Or On Your F***in' Knees...Begging?"

Dillon convinces his men in Alien 3

Dillon helped convince the prisoners to go along with Ripley's plan to kill the alien by giving them an unfortunate, but altogether real ultimatum. Either they stand together and fight back, or the alien would pick them off one by one until nobody was left to kill.

What his speech lacked in optimism, it made up for with sheer defiance. In the end, that was enough to convince the prisoners to make a go of it and stand united no matter what might happen.

"Ripley, Think Of All We Can Learn From It! It's The Chance Of A Lifetime! You Must Let Me Have It!"

Bishop II in Alien 3

The second Bishop attempted to court Ripley's favor by promising to remove the alien queen from her chest and dispose of it accordingly. He played on the thing she most wanted to hear - that the company couldn't allow the organism to live, lest humanity be destroyed.

In the end, Ripley refused his silver-tongued words and prepared to commit suicide rather than let the company get their hands on the queen. Realizing he had no more cards to play, Bishop took the mask off and confirmed her worst fears by pleading with her to turn the queen over to him. Ripley sacrificed herself and put an end not just to the alien queen, but her own incredible life as well.
