Some people transform themselves into iconic characters through costumes and cosplay, and many people opt for Disney themes when doing so. For instance, there are so many great examples of Alice In Wonderland ensembles that celebrate and recreate Alice, the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, and beyond.

Down below, in fact, there are ten different costumes that were inspired by this fantasy tale. They each utilize detailed outfits, elaborate makeup routines, and picture-perfect accessories, and they should all be kept in mind by all other fans, when it comes to comic conventions, parties and/or Halloween!

Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland

When dressing up like a well-known character, a person and/or group can take inspiration from a certain version and/or can put their own twist on things. For this group, Tim Burton’s live-action film was the inspo, as these people look like they could have been cast in it!

Shared on Deviant Art, this example features Alice, the Queen of Hearts (since some prefer to go the villain route), the White Queen, the Cheshire Cat, and the Mad Hatter.

The Mad Hatter

Speaking of the Hatter… He is a fan favorite, so next up is a rendition of him from Reddit and by Captive Cosplay. The steampunk-like clothes, the curly red hair, the whimsical elements… Several high-quality and on-point details went into making this a true success! And of course, gender-bending characters for cosplay is always a great idea.

Alice (With A Twist)

What if Alice were a brunette? And what if she went around stabbing and killing people? That seems to be the story here, when Krystal Sapphire Layke McDonald gave the world a dark and bloody version of Alice on candyabuse.blogspot.com.

As mentioned, fans are free to make cosplays their own, and for twisted souls, this version of this character probably seems better than the original.

The Cheshire Cat

Many people dress up as the Cheshire Cat, due to its pink and purple stripes, creepy smile and silly personality. And on YouTube, Jordan Hanz showed everyone how to do some cute but creepy makeup inspired by this cat.

It is complete with painted-on eyelids and 3D teeth, which make it a stand-out costume… and a terrifying one! Some reassuring news is that even if someone's makeup doesn't come out looking just like this, a Disney cat costume is always a good idea.

The White Rabbit

The first creature Alice meets from Wonderland is the White Rabbit, who is late, late, late. This example, which was posted on Deviant Art by NiGHTSflyer129, is a neat way to dress up as this character.

There are fluffy white accents for the hands and the ears. There are clocks. And there is a nod to the Queen of Hearts, as playing cards adorn the hat and the neck here. That hat also looks a lot like the Mad Hatter’s, so this costume is sort of a three-in-one idea.

The Caterpillar

A supporting character from this story is the Caterpillar, who eventually changes into a butterfly. This costume, by Jenn Rian, is a beautiful celebration of the Caterpillar, and it was shared online,  complete with a hookah!

This cosplay puts a ballgown twist on the character, and uses an incredible hairstyle to mimic the blue smoke of the film. A fuller skirt seems to even have been added later on… a transformation as awesome as the one seen in this tale.

Tweedle Dee + Tweedle Dum

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum cannot be forgotten, and dressing up as them is perfect for twins. Dressing up as them is even better when two young twins as cute as these wear tutus.

This costume is actually sold on Etsy, so it may not 'count' as a cosplay to some... but not all cosplay has to be created by the wearer to be incredible. And while tiny versions and tutus are not necessary, when putting together a cosplay that honors this iconic duo, they are adorable.

The Queen Of Hearts

Adults can turn voluminous skirts into Disney princess or villain gowns, though, as seen by this example from a blog called The Felt Habit. Yes, this person put their own spin on a Queen Of Hearts' costume, and this would be one that could be copied quite easily (so keep that in mind, since Halloween is on its way!).

The Mad Hatter + The March Hare

Another pair from this book and these movies would be the Mad Hatter and the March Hare; Hare, alone, may not be recognized, as the Hatter is definitely one of the most famous characters from this story. But couples and best friends can be both of them, with costumes like these.

This was shared on maskerix.com, mixes lots of prints, features incredible hats and uses tea cups and kettles like cherries on top of a sundae.

Alice + Dinah

Last but not least is another recreation of Alice, and this one also shows off someone special: Dinah, her pet cat! Yes, on Reddit, kitsuneraposa knew that an Alice In Wonderland cosplay would not be complete without a furry friend. Plus, it is true that adding in animals and/or children can always make costumes even cuter and more memorable.
