Fans can finally get their first look at Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo thanks to a new piece of movie theater merchandise in Arizona. The Hail, Caesar! standout has the daunting task of headlining Lucasfilm's Solo: A Star Wars Story, following the footsteps of living legend Harrison Ford as the fan-favorite smuggler. Ehrenreich's performance in the role will no doubt be heavily scrutinized when the spinoff reaches theaters next summer, even more so with the revelation that the studio brought in an acting coach to help their star along when things weren't going as planned.
Solo infamously had one of the most troubled productions in recent memory, with Ron Howard coming in to reshoot just about the entire thing after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired back in June. The Oscar-winner quickly found himself in the good graces of viewers by posting behind-the-scenes teases on social media, giving viewers glimpses of the locations and characters. It was through these pictures audiences got their first image of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, but Ehrenreich's Han has been kept heavily under wraps - save for some set photos during Lord and Miller's time at the helm. Now, the first "official" image of Ehrenreich has been revealed.
Twitter user Mike DeRose (hat tip Making Star Wars) shared a picture of a "movie loyalty cup" he received at Harkins Theater in Arizona. Very clearly, you can see the young Han Solo standing side-by-side with his trusted pal, Chewbacca. Check it out for yourself in the space below:

What leads Making Star Wars to believe this is a legitimate piece of merchandise (and not simply a fan rendering) is the fact that the cup spotlights several other characters from some of 2018's most anticipated tentpoles. With Han and Chewie are the likes of Deadpool and Domino from Deadpool 2, Alicia Vikander's Lara Croft, and Gamora, who will appear with her fellow Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War. It's a little odd that Lucasfilm didn't get ahead of the ball by sharing a more official look at Ehrenreich in-costume beforehand, but until they rev up marketing for Solo, this will have to do. Many had thought the studio would celebrate the end of filming with a still, but that came and went without any sort of reveal.
As for Han himself, the costume is certainly fitting of the character. It bears much resemblance to Solo's attire from the original trilogy (and, for that matter, The Force Awakens), with a black jacket over a white shirt. From the sound of things, this isn't the only getup Ehrenreich will be sporting in the prequel, as Making Star Wars refers to this as Han's "hero outfit," so time will tell what other costumes he'll wear. The actor definitely looks the part, but Ehrenreich's real judgment day is when the first trailer comes out and fans get a chance to see him in action. Hopefully, it'll all be worth the trouble it took to get Solo finished.
