The stars of the Alaskan Bush People took to their social media over the weekend to honor Billy Brown on his birthday. Billy passed away in February after suffering a devastating seizure atop his mountain homestead in Washington. The recent season showcased how the entire family was coping as they tried to move on from their devastating loss.

Discovery Channel's Alaskan Bush People patriarch Billy was widely considered the heart of the docuseries, which showed viewers his dream of living the self-sustainable way, with his family, off the grid. The Texas-born reality star blazed the trail for his wild family as they left Alaska behind and ventured into the State of Washington to live atop a mountain. Before his fatal seizure, Billy also had a recent respiratory emergency. The patriarch's health problems left many fans concerned about him and wondering about the fate of the show. Among the mourning, the Wolf Pack did continue to film and just finished airing the newest season, which featured Billy.

Billy would have turned 69 this December, but sadly he wasn't here to celebrate with his loved ones and friends. On Saturday, December 4th, some of Billy's children shared a few touching memories of their father on his special day. Bam Bam, who is usually quiet and reserved, posted a nature video that encompassed how he felt about his father. The second eldest son wrote that Billy would "always be my hero." Supporters flocked to the comment section to show support and send well wishes. Check out Bam's post below:

Bear Brown also shared a post with followers as he admitted he is still in the grieving process. Bear's post was a bit longer and shared a portrait of Billy looking up at the sky. Just like his older brother, Bear also stated that Billy was his hero, sharing it was impossible to describe the empty feeling he has been carrying around since the family's loss. Both brothers agreed that they were very lucky to have had him as a father. Bear revealed that he knew his father was in a "better place" and was no longer dealing with the pain. Bear even divulged that one of his last conversations with his father was Billy telling him how proud he was.

The entire Brown family has been in mourning, and as the one-year mark fast approaches, fans know it will be a difficult time. The Wolf Pack have been doing their best to keep working on North Star Ranch. Bear and Raiven Adams recently revealed that they would be building their home on the mountain. The Alaskan Bush People stars are trying their best to make sure they continue to fulfill Billy's dreams even after death.
