Remedy Entertainment's remaster of its beloved action-adventure thriller, Alan Wake, might be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. A new listing that has appeared on the Brazil Advisory Rating Board on Monday suggests the title is also making a debut on Nintendo’s hybrid console, alongside recently confirmed platforms and its premiere Epic Game Store exclusivity.

Alan Wake is a part-action game, part psychological thriller created by the critically acclaimed Max Payne developers. Released exclusively on the Xbox 360 in 2010, it followed the fictitious best-selling novelist Alan Wake as he tried to uncover the mystery behind his wife's disappearance. This is all while fending off a dark presence in the small town of Bright Falls and experiencing events from a novel he didn't remember writing. The novelist has now remerged from the darkness, with developer Remedy and publisher Epic Games announcing Alan Wake Remastered. It's set to come out on multiple platforms in fall 2021, including PlayStation and now possibly the Nintendo after more than a decade.

In a listing sighted by VGC, a rating for the Nintendo Switch version of Alan Wake Remastered has been classified by Brazil's Advisory Rating Board. The rating has since been taken down but suggests that the Nintendo Switch version would be releasing alongside the recently confirmed PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions. This surprise arrival on Switch would be something not shown or confirmed in Alan Wake's announcement trailer earlier this month. Remedy Entertainment made its first appearance on the Nintendo Switch with the launch of Control via cloud streaming last year. Being a remaster, there's a chance this enhanced version of Alan Wake will follow in the steps of the developer's last title and see a cloud version release as well.

Alan Wake

Releasing on October 5th, Alan Wake Remastered will see Bright Fall's resurgence with 4K visuals, new graphical enhancements to character models, and cutscenes with next-generation console-specific extras. Both DLC expansions and audio commentary from creative director Sam Lake are also included. Its ghastly world will now feature its in-universe branding, replacing previous product placements and promotional material such as Verizon and Energizer ads that were originally added for immersion.

While the developer hasn't made any new announcements or an outline for the title's future, many fans believe Alan Wake Remastered is Remedy's first step in preparing audiences for Alan Wake's much-coveted sequel, rumored to be in development. Unitl then, fans can look forward to returning to a remastered Bright Falls in the enhanced version of Remedy's cult-classic thriller, Alan Wake.
