The AirPods Pro 2 pack a slew of useful features, including the ability for users to find their earbuds and even the charging case with the Find My app. Apple's Find My network, which includes over a billion active devices, gained in both popularity and functionality following the introduction of the company's AirTag. Though tracking a pair of AirPods Pro is a bit different from tracking the AirTag, the release of Apple's tracker caused the company to refine the entire Find My experience.

Not all products have the technology that powers the AirTag. For example, the first-generation AirPods Pro don't have speakers in their charging case. Similarly, the latest Apple TV remote does not have any location tracking capabilities, despite it being a highly-requested feature. But with the release of the AirPods Pro 2, Apple made sure that the earbuds and their charging case would essentially function as an AirTag. The case now features a U1 chip to support precision finding and a speaker that can play a sound when the case is lost. As highlighted by the inclusion of the lanyard loop on the AirPods Pro 2, Apple clearly intended to make the upgraded model easier to find and harder to lose.

AirPods Pro 2 can be found using the Find My app on any iPhone or iPad that is paired with the earbuds. By opening the Find My app on iPhone, users can view the location of all the devices signed in to their Apple ID with Find My enabled. This includes each AirPods Pro 2 earbud and their charging case, which will be shown as individual icons on the map in the event they are separated. Pinch to zoom in and drag to move around the map, or simply tap the AirPods' icon to view the device's location details.

After pressing the 'Find' button, users will see an arrow pointing them in the direction of their AirPods and may see their approximate distance away. In addition, they might see a message telling them that their AirPods are located on a different floor. It's important to note that in order for precision finding to work, Find My must be enabled in the Settings app. The AirPods Pro 2 pack new technologies, including the U1 chip, that make it possible to quickly locate them in the Find My app.
