Ahsoka Tano's Star Wars future after her first appearance in The Mandalorian is filled with exciting possibilities. Following Bo-Katan Kryze name-dropping the former Jedi when she and her Nite Owls encountered Din Djarin and Baby Yoda, whose real name is revealed to be Grogu, in Trask, the Disney+ series introduces Rosario Dawson as the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano. Now that Ahsoka has finally come to live-action, there are a lot more opportunities for her in Star Wars' future.

Introduced as Anakin Skywalker's Padawan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film, Ahsoka's story has been fleshed out through Lucasfilm animated shows such as Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. She made her most recent appearance in the final season of Clone Wars which released on Disney+ in early 2020, but chronologically, she was last seen joining Sabine Wren on a mission to search for Ezra Bridger. That's until her re-emergence in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 5, "Chapter 13: The Jedi" where she's revealed to be hunting down Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Din locating Ahsoka didn't end with her taking Baby Yoda and training him. Instead, Mando is given a new mission as part of his efforts to reunite Grogu with his people. As for Ahsoka, The Mandalorian doesn't give any indication where she'll go next, but her appearance in the show could effectively be a launching pad for her future in the franchise.

Will Ahsoka Tano Appear In A Future Star Wars Movie?

Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian

Since she doesn't have a confirmed Star Wars film right now, there's no concrete indication that Ahsoka will make her way onto the big screen. Like other legendary Jedi, however, she did make a voice cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, giving people the idea that she may have already passed on during the time of the Star Wars sequels. Dave Filoni, who's the primary creative force behind Ahsoka, floated the idea that this might not be the case. Between the uncertainty of Star Wars movies in general and Ahsoka's future beyond her appearance in The Mandalorian season 2, it's difficult to predict if a movie appearance is in the cards for the character.

Will Ahsoka Tano Appear In A Star Wars Spinoff Show?

Ahsoka's Next Appearance Should Be In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2

With Disney and Lucasfilm holding back announcing any movies in the foreseeable future, Star Wars is thriving on Disney+. There is a string of spin-off shows on the docket following The Mandalorian's success like the Rogue One offshoot focusing Diego Luna's Cassian Andor and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor. There are also several rumored Disney+ projects, both animated and live-action - the latter supposedly include an Ahsoka series. One rumor suggests a live-action show will be set after the events of Star Wars Rebels with Hera, Zeb, and the Ghost's trusted droid, Chopper, all set to make an appearance. Filoni is said to spearhead the show which will tackle the group's continued search for Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka's The Mandalorian appearance didn't mention any of these Star Wars Rebels characters; instead, it's revealed that she's looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn. That said, since the Chiss villain was last seen with Ezra, her latest outing could double as a launching pad for her own show. Regardless of how Lucasfilm wants to handle it, it's clear is that there are still stories left to tell for Ahsoka.

Will Ahsoka Tano Return in The Mandalorian Season 3?

Ahsoka Tano and Din Djarin in The Mandalorian

As Ahsoka gives Mando a new mission for Baby Yoda, it's possible that her involvement in The Mandalorian is done. After this encounter, she's set on her own journey tracking down Grand Admiral Thrawn. That being said, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that she makes her way back into the show, especially considering her ties to Bo-Katan. Not only that, but it was never mentioned what happened to Sabine Wren, whose last known company was the former Jedi; aside from being a Mandalorian, the Star Wars Rebels character also once wielded the Darksaber which effectively ties her into all this. Ahsoka may be the key to bringing her in.
