Lucasfilm's Ahsoka Disney+ show casts Natasha Liu Bordizzo as its live-action Sabine Wren. The Mandalorian season 2 introduced Rosario Dawson to the wider Star Wars fandom as the former Jedi known as Ahsoka Tano. This was a big moment for many fans, as Ahsoka became a fan-favorite character earlier on thanks to her roles in the animated shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. It was shortly after Rosario Dawson's live-action debut as Ahsoka that Lucasfilm confirmed plans for her spinoff show on Disney+.

The events of Ahsoka were directly set up in The Mandalorian season 2, as Rosario Dawson's character was looking for the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Although the character hasn't appeared in live-action yet, fans of the galaxy far, far away's animated shows know him from Star Wars Rebels. This seemingly connected Ahsoka's new live-action future to where Rebels left her story. It was in the Star Wars Rebels series finale that Ahsoka was last seen reuniting with Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian warrior. This left most to speculate about the likelihood of Sabine making her live-action debut in Ahsoka, which is now confirmed.

The character of Sabine Wren joined the Star Wars universe in 2014 when Star Wars Rebels debuted. She was a prominent member of the Ghost crew and helped them become major players in the Rebellion after she exited Imperial training. Sabine eventually became the owner of the fabled Darksaber, which was featured in The Mandalorian, and willingly gave it to Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff)Star Wars Rebels left her story at an undisclosed time following the Empire's defeat when Ahsoka came back to Lothal. The series finale set them up to start searching for their missing friend Ezra Bridger, who is heavily rumored to be in Ahoksa as well.

Now that it is confirmed that Sabine Wren is in Ahsoka and that Natasha Liu Bordizzo will play the live-action version of the Star Wars Rebels character, fans will certainly expect more characters from the animated series to appear. This would be a natural extension of Ahsoka and Sabine's stories and allow the series to act as a continuation of Star Wars Rebels. It also sets up the possibility of Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing live-action Sabine Wren in other Star Wars properties, such as The Mandalorian season 3, after her Ahsoka debut.
