Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4.Following the surprise return of Ahmed Best to the Star Wars galaxy, The Mandalorian star and director Carl Weathers is celebrating the actor's latest appearance, while also hoping for his continued role in the galaxy far, far away. As seen in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4, the young child Grogu recalls his past during Order 66, having been present at the Jedi Temple during the Great Purge. It's revealed that Kelleran Beq was instrumental in getting the child to safety, a Jedi Master played by Best who first portrayed none other than Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4 was directed by Weathers, who also plays Magistrate Greef Karga. Following the episode's release, Weathers posted on Twitter how much he wants to see more of Best following his impressive Jedi role during Grogu's traumatic flashback sequence:

Remarkably, Jedi Master Beq was able to ward off the incoming clone troopers and get Grogu out of the Jedi Temple, dual-wielding twin lightsabers as a clearly experienced swordsman. The actor's appearance was met with resounding fan applause, and it looks like Weathers also hopes that more will be seen of Best and his new role as a Jedi survivor.

Why Ahmed Best's Return Is So Big For Star Wars

Jar Jar Binks and Kelleran Beq in The Mandalorian season 3

The Mandalorian season 3 and Order 66 is not the first time Kelleran Beq has appeared in the Star Wars galaxy. Initially, the Jedi Master was created to be the host for Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, a kids' game show on YouTube in which the young contestants took on the roles of Padawans under Beq's tutelage. While the game show itself was not canonical to the greater Star Wars continuity, Best's character and the show's backstory were.

As such, Kelleran Beq is now even more critical to the Star Wars canon now that he's been revealed to be Grogu's savior during Order 66. Likewise, the reveal was perfect for The Mandalorian. While his character wasn't so big as to detract from the sequence, the return of Ahmed Best himself was still quite surprising and exciting in all the right ways, especially for fans of the prequel trilogy.

Following the massive amount of negativity and backlash Best received for his portrayal of Jar Jar Binks, the opportunity to play Master Beq in one of Lucasfilm's biggest Star Wars shows is truly epic. It's the perfect source of redemption where Best is finally receiving the appreciation he's always deserved. After all, Best played Binks exactly how the character was envisioned by George Lucas, regardless of how much fans might hate the clumsy Gungan. With the Jedi Master's fate still unknown after he and Grogu escaped Coruscant together, here's hoping Weathers gets his wish and that more of Kelleran Beq will be seen in a future flashback during The Mandalorian season 3.
