America's Got Talent season 17 is about to begin, and according to a preview video, the show is back and better than ever with "magnificent" new acts. The new season premieres Tuesday, May 31 on NBC. AGT has always been a summer hit for the network, and the show will look to find the next big $1 million act to headline a show in Las Vegas. This new season comes off the heels of spin-off series AGT: Extreme, a competition that focuses on dangerous acts and stunt performers, getting put on hold after just one season, with no current plans for a second installment.

The talent competition returns in similar fashion to the last few seasons, with Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel coming back as judges. Terry Crews also returns for his fourth season as host. AGT has long highlighted some of the best talents from all across the country in different forms, including music, dance, acrobatics, magic, comedy and variety. Since the show first premiered in 2006, AGT has always showcased unique and diverse talent.

In a sneak peek video released on the America's Got Talent YouTube channel, some of the acts competing in season 17 are previewed, though the focus of the teaser is primarily on the judges, who say fans will get to see "magnificent" acts. Terry interviews all of the judges in the preview, asking them about their excitement to be back. Heidi comments on the live studio audience at the auditions, which is being brought back for the first time in over two years. The show could not have a live studio audience in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID-19 precautions. Sofia talks about the contestants, saying they are "here with a dream" and mentions how "inspiring" they are.

The AGT promo is a hopeful look at what viewers can expect this summer, and the preview ends with Howie telling one contestant that they are going to "change the world." He also promises that this season will be "the most magnificent in AGT history." Acts shown in the preview include a country music trio, an acrobatic act involving fire, a dance troupe and a balancing act. Terry hits his golden buzzer for an unknown contestant in the preview, which he and all the judges get to use once during the auditions to send an act straight through to the live voting rounds.

America's Got Talent looks to be coming back with a vengeance for season 17, finally being able to celebrate the talent with a live audience. AGT has always been an inspiring show, with tear-jerking contestant backstories and mind-blowing talent. As the show returns to its regular format, it will be exciting for fans to see who stands out in the auditions and who will end up winning the grand prize. There have been so many spectacular winners from different categories of talent, including singer Grace VanderWaal, ventriloquist Terry Fator, magician Mat Franco and spoken word artist Brandon Leake. America's Got Talent has been a longstanding institution on NBC, yet the show always finds a way to keep viewers excited, and season 17 should be no different.
