Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wraps for the final time ever as they finish filming the season 7 finale, with cast members commemorating the TV show. In 2013, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered on ABC as the very first Marvel TV spinoff from Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe, picking up after Phil Coulson's death in The Avengers and following his return to the living as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. However, at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, it was revealed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will end after season 7, bringing the stories of Coulson and his team to an end.

Currently, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is in season 6, having taken an extra long hiatus after season 5 so that the series wouldn't be constrained by the effects of Avengers: Infinity War. (Although, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't fit the MCU timeline anymore after Avengers: Endgame either.) The series was renewed for season 7 before season 6 even premiered, and the cast and creative team started working on it long before it was revealed to be the final season. Now, though, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has officially wrapped filming on the season 7 finale, with members of the cast, crew and creative team taking to social media to commemorate the show.

On social media sites Twitter and Instagram, those involved in the making of the series took the time to announce Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapped filming forever with the conclusion of production on the series' final episode. The posts below see the cast and creative team honor all seven seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The ABC series has had a wild journey over the last six years. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. broke series premiere ratings records on ABC when it premiered in 2013, no doubt a result of the monumental success of The Avengers. It was also the very first Marvel TV show to tie into the larger MCU, even if the movies and series have grown increasingly separate. Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb always liked to say, "It's all connected," but with the movies refusing to acknowledge the TV shows, it seems all connections were one-sided. That changed a bit with the inclusion of Agent Carter's James D'Arcy in Avengers: Endgame as Edwin Jarvis, Howard Stark's butler.

Now as Avengers: Endgame brings the MCU's Infinity Saga to a close, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrapping marks the end of an era for Marvel TV as well. Perhaps there's some hope that characters like Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) can return in future MCU projects, but for now, it seems Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 7 will conclude their stories as we know them. At least fans still have the entirety of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 7 to look forward to - and the season 6 finale this week.
