The full-length trailer for Agents of SHIELD season 7 has Coulson and his crew teaming up with Agent Carter's Daniel Sousa. Back in the early days of Phase 2, the MCU expanded to the small screen with a pair of ABC series following the adventures of, respectively, SHIELD agent Phil Coulson after his "death" in The Avengers and Peggy Carter during the '40s. The latter of those shows, Agent Carter, was canceled after two seasons in 2016. Agents of SHIELD, on the other hand, has managed to outlive ever other Marvel TV project developed since it premiered back in 2013.

For its seventh and final season, Agents of SHIELD will even include its first crossover with Agent Carter (not counting the flashback featuring Peggy in season 2). As part of this season's time-travel storyline, Coulson and his trusted agents eventually come face to face with Peggy's fellow SSR agent Daniel, as once again portrayed by Enver Gjokaj. The WWII veteran will play an active role in helping them save the day too, by the look of things.

Marvel Entertainment has debuted a full-length trailer for Agents of SHIELD season 7 which further teases Sousa's role in the episodes to come. You can check it out, below.

Most of these clips have been featured in previous teasers for season 7, beginning with the footage of the Chronicoms stealing a police officer's identity (in a rather literal and disturbing fashion) in New York City circa 1931. From there, the preview shows Coulson and his team making their way through history in an attempt to stop them, bringing them face to face with Daniel and eventually leading Coulson to realize that, in order to save SHIELD, they have to save Hydra too. The evil organization has been a central element of Agents of SHIELD since the beginning (as part of the show's build-up to the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier), so it's good to see season 7 will provide some payoff to that specific narrative thread. That goes double for the Chronicom storyline, which was technically in the making as far back as season 5, before coming to the forefront last year.

As for Daniel Sousa: he and Peggy began a romance at the end of Agent Carter season 2, but the show was canceled before it could resolve that cliffhanger. Last year, of course, Avengers: Endgame wrapped up Peggy's journey by revealing she had reunited with Steve Rogers after he traveled back to the '40s to live a full life with her, but there was nary a mention of Daniel or what ultimately happened to him. Hopefully, those who've been waiting for an answer will get a satisfying one when the character meets Coulson and the gang.
