Filming has already wrapped on ABC's Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6. Upon its debut in 2013, the show marked the first small screen production to be set within the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over the first five seasons, the series has continued to grow in quality and follow the continued adventures of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet).

Despite the longevity that it has had, S.H.I.E.L.D. is a show repeatedly on the bubble. Fans were prepared for season five to be the last, but another late renewal guarantees more adventures with the agents. However, this time more changes were made. The series entered production at its usual time, but it isn't part of ABC's fall or winter/spring lineup. The network has instead elected to wait until July 2019 to air the new episodes - notably after Avengers: Endgame hits theaters. While everyone still has several months to wait and see what comes next, filming is already done.

Mark Kolpack, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Visual Effects Supervisor, confirmed the latest update on season 6 on Twitter. He shared a photo of the wrap party, where a few cast members can be seen in attendance after working for months on filming the series. Even though the actual filming of the 13 episode season is done, Kolpack was quick to remind fans that his job is far from over.

Season 6 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started production in July of this year, so this wraps up a nearly five month shoot. The new season will once again feature Daisy as the central character, but it will be her pal Mack (Henry Simmons) who will serve as the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. His promotion comes as Coulson received an ambiguous send-off in the season 5 finale, and there's been no clear sign of his return in season 6 (though Gregg did return to direct the first episode of the season). There's been plenty of secrecy surrounding season 6, with no major new additions to the cast yet reported and no plot details available. Bennet previously shared the first photo of Quake's new look, but that is one of the only pieces of information to come out.

Thankfully, fans know that whatever the new season holds, the upcoming episodes won't be the last. ABC previously gave S.H.I.E.L.D. an early renewal for season 7. At the time of this announcement, there was some belief that this could've been done so that the seventh season could film very soon after season 6. If that is the case, then it may not be too long before it is announced that the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast is back in action.
