Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 is taking a hiatus for the month of February. There is one episode left before the series goes on break. The show will then return in March with the tenth episode of the season. One week later, ABC will air the series' much-anticipated 100th episode overall.

Season 5 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took the series in a whole new direction by bringing Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team decades into the future for an outer space adventure featuring the Kree, more Inhumans, and old friends. Season 5 has also introduced a new plotline that labels Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) as the Destroyer of Worlds. Coulson and company are forced to deal with the terrifying possibility that Daisy could be responsible for the destruction of  the Earth.

According to Comic Book, ABC has confirmed that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be taking a break following the season's tenth episode, "Past Life", which is set to air February 2nd. It's suspected that the hiatus comes as a result of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, which will air from February 9th to the 25th. It was originally planned for the series to have an uninterrupted run, due to the fact that the season was put on hold on account of Marvel's Inhumans, which occupied its Friday timeslot from September 29th through November 10th last year. It makes sense that the Winter Olympics has caused ABC to adjust their schedule.

A week after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns in March (as mentioned earlier), fans will get to see the 100th episode, which includes a "significant event" that will "destroy" longtime fans of the show. Though fans may have over a month to wait for the heartbreaking "significant event", it's a good possibility that at least the reveal of Kasius' mysterious seer will happen before the break.

Some expect that Coulson's team will manage to find a way back to the present in the next episode. The "end of everything" is threatened as Daisy fears the repercussions of returning to their correct place in the timeline. Fans speculate that once Coulson's team returns, we'll get to meet Dove Cameron's Ruby, General Hale's daughter. This suggests that the second half of the season may have some connection to the Blue Raven Ridge facility that was featured in the Fitz-centric episode, "Rewind", earlier this season.
