Actress Adrianne Palicki, who portrayed Mockingbird on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., would like to see her character return to the series someday. Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, was a highly valued member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team on the series for two seasons. The character, along with her ex-husband, Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), left the show, though, after the two got caught up in a conspiracy in Russia. To maintain their cover, they left S.H.I.E.L.D., and the organization disavowed any knowledge of them.

The truth behind the characters' departures, though, is that they were supposed to get a spin off series called Marvel's Most Wanted. A pilot was shot, focusing on the two characters as they attempted to uncover the conspiracy against them without any help from S.H.I.E.L.D. However, ABC decided not to pick up the pilot to series, which meant that Bobbi and Lance were left hanging out in limbo, their stories unresolved within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Blood reprised his role as Lance during season 5 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but Palicki has not yet returned as Mockingbird.

When asked by TV Line about her possible return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Palicki said that it was something she would like to happen.

Listen, if they ask me to come back, I would absolutely come back. I was like, “Nick [Blood] came back [for a season 5 episode] — what the hell, guys?”

Adrianne Palicki on The Orville

Palicki also spoke about how good the pilot for Marvel's Most Wanted was and what fans might have expected from the series:

We were mercenaries, yeah. It’s kind of an extension of what we were dealing with before, where we, like, ended up trying to get married again and all hell breaks loose because people are after us. Ultimately it’s us just kind of fighting for our lives.

Palicki currently has a starring role on the Fox series The Orville. The sci-fi comedy show, created by and starring Seth MacFarlane, has proved its success. Its first episode was Fox's biggest premiere since Empire first aired on the network. On that series, Palicki portrays Commander Kelly Grayson, who also happens to be Captain Ed Mercer's (MacFarlane) ex-wife. The show, which is currently in its second season, often gets compared to Star Trek, with many Trek fans preferring it over CBS' Star Trek: Discovery.

As it stands, it doesn't look like Palicki will have the opportunity to return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. soon. Not only is she busy with The Orville, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. recently finished production on season 6, which will premiere this summer. Season 7 is already in the works, though, with reports suggesting that a seventh season will begin production in February. If Mockingbird makes a comeback, fans won't get to see her for at least another year. However, there is interest in the S.H.I.E.L.D. fandom to see the return of the character, if only for an episode or two. If Marvel and ABC are paying attention, it seems that Palicki is up for the job.
