[Update: TVLine has confirmed that Gabriel Luna will return as Ghost Rider in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 finale, 'World's End'.]

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. teases the return of Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) before the end of season 4. This season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been split up into three distinct pods that have been tied together loosely through the mystical book known as the Darkhold. The first pod introduced Ghost Rider and his evil uncle Eli Morrow (Jose Zuniga), who built a machine capable of creating matter - and gave himself that ability as well - through the help of the Darkhold. Then, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. shifted focus to Dr. Holden Radcliffe (John Hannah) and his Life-Model Decoy Aida (Mallory Jansen) - both of whom wanted to get their hands on the Darkhold for their own purposes.

The third pod has seen agents Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) infiltrating the virtual reality created by Radcliffe called the Framework. However, threads of how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would tie all its season 4 pods together were revealed in last week's episode, 'All the Madame's Men' when Simmons discovered what Project Looking Glass is and how Aida plans to create a machine like Eli Morrow's - but one that will be able to create a human body.

Now, if a new social media post is anything to go by, Eli's tech won't be the only thing from the Ghost Rider pod resurfacing before the end of season 4. In a post from the official Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter account, they predict some "flamin' hot weather" and use both the fire and winking emojis, seemingly indicating Ghost Rider will return in this week's episode, 'Farewell, Cruel World!'. Both Robbie and Eli disappeared in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. winter finale, 'The Laws of Inferno Dynamics', when they were dragged to a different dimension through a portal created by Aida in the demon core constructed by Eli to trap Ghost Rider. Neither have been seen since, but shortly after the episode aired Luna teased Ghost Rider's return in season 4. There was also talk of a Ghost Rider spinoff from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it remains to be seen whether anything comes of those discussions.

As for how exactly Robbie Reyes can return to his home dimension on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it's unclear how he would be able to do so, but it would seemingly be reliant on Ghost Rider's abilities since the spirit of vengeance previously proved itself capable of traveling between dimensions. We haven't seen Robbie Reyes in the Framework, but according to the synopsis for 'Farewell, Cruel World!' the agents will be racing against Aida creating her machine to escape the Framework before she can unplug it and trap them inside.

In terms of wrapping up all three of the show's season 4 storylines, it certainly would make for a compelling finale to see Ghost Rider return, but it may not be as the ally he was earlier in the season. 'The Return' synopsis teased an "even deadlier enemy" awaiting the agents outside the Framework. While that could certainly be chalked up to the LMD version of Anton Ivanov (Zach McGowan), it could also be a returned Ghost Rider, but one ruled more by the demon than by Robbie. All that said, exactly how the rest of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 plays out remains to be seen, but this new social media post certainly promises an explosive finale.
