Coy Stewart, who plays Flint in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has promised that the next episode will reveal the "magnitude" of Flint's powers.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 has seen the S.H.I.E.L.D. team cast into a dystopian future timeline. There, to their horror, they've found themselves living among the last survivors of the human race. The Earth has been shattered, and the aliens known as the Kree have positioned themselves as humanity's saviors.

It's been a dark and emotional story, but along the way the team have found powerful allies. Most notably, there's the Inhuman known as Flint. Played by Coy Stewart, Flint was introduced as a kid who was simply trying to make ends meet in the Lighthouse. Exposed to the Terrigen Mist, he became a powerful Inhuman with the ability to manipulate rocks.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Stewart gave us a sense of just what to expect from 'Past Life' - the last episode before S.H.I.E.L.D. goes on a brief hiatus. He promised that this episode would show just what Flint is capable of.

"In 'Past Life,' we see sort of a peak of Flint's powers. We see what he can really do with the new powers that he has been blessed with, and we see what he's capable of. I think we also finally see what he was meant to do with these agents. Why they were here, and why they both met at this time."

Later in the interview, Stewart described the episode as revealing the "magnitude" of Flint's Inhuman abilities. That's certainly an amusing turn of phrase, given Flint is allied with the earthquake-inducing Quake.

Comic book fans will be thrilled to hear this. Flint is actually one of the most powerful Inhumans in the comics. When he was introduced, he settled for tossing rocks at his opponents - a feat that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has faithfully (if brutally) reproduced. Little by little, though, writer Charles Soule has given a sense of just how powerful this Inhuman kid could actually be. In one scene, another Inhuman took control of Flint's body and used his powers to literally bring down a mountain. Crucially, where Inhumans are usually tired after such a notable use of their powers, Flint didn't seem fazed at all.

Then, more recently, another arc featured an Inhuman spaceship attempting to leave the Solar System - and facing off against a Chitauri horde. Flint saved the day when he used his powers to manipulate Pluto. Astronomers may debate whether or not Pluto is actually a planet nowadays, but the fact remains that he was able to manipulate a chunk of rock that's 1,473 miles in diameter, about two-thirds the diameter of Earth's moon. That's a tremendously impressive use of his power.

It seems Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s next episode, 'Past Life,' will see Flint's most notable feats yet on the TV series. Given he may be the team's only way home, that statement is sure to excite fans.
