Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet agree with one fan's idea of cheering up those affected by the coronavirus: release season 7 early. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one of ABC's longest-running dramas at this point, though its seventh season will also be its last. It's also the rare Marvel show to make it past season 2 or 3, which tends to be when shows get cancelled. Though it's never been a massive ratings success, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has enough fans championing it to have made it as far as it has.

Gregg and Bennet arguable play the show's two most important characters in Phil Coulson and Daisy Johnson. Coulson originally came from the MCU movies, though he was killed by Loki in those. ABC resurrected the character specifically for the TV show, though he did eventually die on the small screen as well. For season 7, Gregg will play a LMD (Life Model Decoy) version of Coulson. Meanwhile, Bennet's character was recruited by Coulson for S.H.I.E.L.D., giving them a father-daughter relationship that's one of the show's strongest. Daisy has gone on to become a leader of S.H.I.E.L.D., at least partly due to Coulson's mentorship.

Season 7 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is due to bow this summer, as ABC moved it off its regular fall schedule beginning with season 6. However, one fan thinks the network should release it now due to the coronavirus quarantine in some areas. Gregg and Bennet seem to agree, having both retweeted the fans suggestion on Twitter. Check out the fan's original tweet below:

As the coronavirus pandemic began, it seemed the entertainment industry was only going to be negatively affected. Marvel in particular has had to stop production on a number of projects. These include upcoming MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as several Disney+ shows. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stopped filming in Prague due to the coronavirus, sending its cast and crew back home. Meanwhile, here in the United States, both Loki and WandaVision halted work.

However, an early release of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't completely out of the question. Disney already made the decision to release Frozen 2 on Disney+ a full three months early, explaining they were hoping to cheer up families affected by the virus. There have also been calls on social media for many studios to release movies on streaming ahead of time, especially those that have had their release dates pushed back. This doesn't mean ABC will end up releasing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. early, but it's at least nice to know the idea has support from two of the show's stars.
