Chloe Bennet has taken to social media to reveal Quake's new look in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6. Although the next season isn't due to launch until next July, it began production this past July. ABC hopes that the summer release, where live-same-day ratings are less important, will allow the series to flourish. They seem extremely confident that this strategy will pay off - earlier today they confirmed that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been renewed for a seventh season, before the sixth has even aired.

All this comes after recent news that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is even more popular than anyone previously believed. Third party analytics confirmed that the show is in the top 0.03 percent of TV series worldwide in terms of demand, matching the likes of Better Call SaulCriminal Minds, and Vikings; demand for S.H.I.E.L.D. is higher than the likes of The OriginalsSupergirlArrow, and Fear The Walking Dead.

Bennet took to Twitter earlier tonight to offer fans an exclusive first look at her character in season 6. She's shared two stunning images of Quake's new look, revealing that S.H.I.E.L.D.'s resident superhero will sport a new hairstyle and rock a cool new costume.

Season 5 ended with the S.H.I.E.L.D. team heading into space in order to rescue Fitz from cryogenic suspension. The photo shows Quake in the same S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet that's been designed for space travel, hinting that the series will pick up from that point. Given the MCU's future appears to involve a strong cosmic focus, it would make sense for the abbreviated sixth season to continue to explore the stars. Coulson's team recently tangled with an alien Confederacy whose experiments threatened to destroy the planet itself; curiously, Marvel chose not to identify one of the races who are part of the Confederacy, leaving a mystery that will hopefully be explored.

If Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 is indeed set in space, then it's slightly amusing that Quake will take the time to change her hairstyle and fashion. The character has donned a fair number of creative new looks over the years, most notably during season 4, but this is probably the most distinctive to date - even involving hair dye. Meanwhile, this new costume is form-fitting but unique, with a fantastic blend of blacks and purples; it's reminiscent of some of the uniforms Quake has worn in the comics. Curiously, there's no visible S.H.I.E.L.D. logo.

It's interesting to note that Quake is still needing to use her gauntlets in season 6. Season 3 established that she only needed these gauntlets to focus her power because of her emotional state. She's had a recent power-up, though, injecting herself with the Centipede Serum in order to defeat Graviton. Thus the gauntlets may suggest her new, enhanced powers are more difficult to control.
