For seven seasons, trips to the future and the past, and multiple different timelines, Agents Of SHIELD brought some unique adventures to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The flagship series of the franchise became the longest lasting, making it to 136 episodes before it came to an end.

Of those 136 episodes, seven of them are season finales that help to conclude storylines and tease future ones, always leaving fans wanting more. According to users of the Internet Movie Database, this is how those seven episodes rank on a scale of one (the worst) to ten (the best). Unsurprising to most fans of the show is that the finales all have pretty high ratings.

Spoiler Alert: There are spoilers for the series finale of Agents Of SHIELD included.

Season Six: New Life (8.8)

The sixth season saw the team battle two different alien beings bent on taking over the planet. One spent more time in the season finale than the other.

Izel tried to open a portal to her world with the help of the being wearing Coulson's face, but May and Mack managed to defeat them. That wouldn't be their only hurdle though as May nearly died from the wounds that she sustained. It's Simmons who saved her - though a Simmons who appears very different than the Simmons who was attacked with Fitz by Chronicoms at the Lighthouse. She led the team away from Izel's temple before the Chronicoms attacked it, jumping their ship to the past, and leaving the audience with one huge cliffhanger to head into the final season.

Season One: Beginning Of The End (9.1)

Agents Of SHIELD Season 1 Finale

Other than the sixth season finale, all of the show's season finales rank above a 9.0, showing just how well the writers were able to end each season. "Beginning Of The End," fittingly, was the start of that.

This episode brought Hydra's CENTIPEDE storyline that kicked off in the pilot episode to an end. May and Skye got the chance to bring Ward down, capturing him for SHIELD, while they released the prisoners Hydra was holding to get their "soldiers" to do their bidding. That freed Mike Peterson from their control and allowed him to begin to atone for the things they'd made him done.

It also began Fitz and Simmons' journey to becoming a couple as Fitz confessed his feelings for her at the bottom of the ocean while trying to save her life. In the end, Simmons pulled him to the surface instead of allowing him to sacrifice himself, and Nick Fury saved them both before turning SHIELD over to Coulson completely.

Season Three: Ascension (9.1)

Lincoln Sacrifices Himself With Hive In Agents Of SHIELD Season 3 Finale

Another episode that brought a conclusion to a Hydra storyline, this one was a little more out there than the first season. Daisy had earlier in the season been shown a vision of a SHIELD agent dying in space, and this episode fulfilled that vision while keeping the audience on their toes.

While the team raced to stop Hive and keep an Inhuman pathogen from being released on the planet, it led to Lincoln being seriously injured in a fight. He knew that Daisy planned on flying the pathogen to space along with Hive, so he took her place, sacrificing himself so she didn't have to. Lincoln, Hive, and the Pathogen were destroyed, leaving Daisy lost and heartbroken.

The episode also provided a quick tease for the next season with Radcliffe's work and Daisy's vigilante status, keeping fans interested after a tragic ending.

Season Four: World's End (9.2)

Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson and Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson in Agents of Shield

The various "pods" of the season all came together in this episode as Ghost Rider returned to help end AIDA (or Ophelia) and her reign from the Framework. His power specifically was needed to end her life, and to get rid of the Darkhold, which corrupted her initially.

Robbie Reyes took the Darkhold through a portal to another world, but that marked the end of his time on the show. Because a Life Model Decoy of Daisy was used to shoot General Talbot, along with SHIELD being pegged responsible for a lot of other crimes, the team spent one last meal together, expecting to be arrested. Instead, they were taken by a mysterious group, and the episode teased Coulson in space to close out the season.

Season Five: The End (9.3)

Agents Of SHIELD The End S5E22

Season five was initially expected to be the end of the series, and as a result, there were a lot of final moments in play. The show was renewed for a further two (shortened) seasons, however, so a lot of those moments would come into play in future seasons.

The biggest moments involved Coulson leaving SHIELD and the timeline being changed. When Daisy was able to defeat Talbot's Gravitron with the help of the modified CENTIPEDE serum, she changed the future the team had just returned from. That meant that the Earth wouldn't be cracked apart and Simmons was free to search for the Fitz in stasis in space that would eventually save them in the future after the Fitz in the current timeline died.

Season Two: SOS Part 2 (9.4)

Though Skye found her family in the second season, she ended up having to stop her mother from destroying most of humanity in the finale. The confrontation between Skye and Jiaying would have serious consequences for the rest of the show.

When Skye stopped her mother from sending Terrigen around the world, she sent it into the ocean instead, where it leaks into the water, contaminating fish, and creating a whole lot of new Inhumans in the seasons to come. Accepting her family history, as tragic as it was, also had Skye becoming Daisy.

It wouldn't be a finale without a cliffhanger either. Just as Fitz and Simmons decided to try to pursue a relationship, Simmons found herself transported by the monolith, leaving a new mystery to start the next season.

Season Seven: What We're Fighting For (9.7)

Jemma And Fitz With Alya In The Agents Of SHIELD Series Finale

As the most recent finale, it's no surprise the episode tops the list. It's important to note that at the time of ranking the episodes, this particular episode only has half the number of ratings as the other finales. Fresh in the minds of fans and critics, as more ratings come in, its overall ranking could change. It likely won't change by much, however, since it did give the audience a satisfying conclusion to the series.

Fitz returned to help the team beat the Chronicoms after being absent for most of the final season. He had to reconnect with Simmons after the Chronicoms had damaged her memory in their effort to extract his location, leading to the reveal that the two spent years developing the time travel technology and had a daughter while they did.

Deke remained in an alternate timeline so that the group could take Kora, Daisy's newly discovered sister, and the Chronicoms back to their original timeline to defeat them - which they did, with the help of Kora and the time displaced Daniel Sousa of Agent Carter. A year later, the team had gone their separate ways, but each found their own version of a happy ending.
