Agent Carter Promo: The Original Marvel Team is Back

Hayley Atwell in Agent Carter Season 2

Agent Carter graces the small screen for the second time this January, and the roll out for that event continues. We received our first trailer last week, which gave us our first look at Agent Carter in the sunny post-WWII California.

Now marketing for the return of Agent Carter continues with a new promo that reveals a bit more about Carter's adventure to the west coast. ABC has released another teaser for season 2 of Agent Carter that promises a "new adventure" for Carter and her team. The promo focuses heavily on the "original Marvel team," consisting of Agent Carter and Jarvis, before the Avengers or S.H.I.E.L.D. ever existed. There are also a few pieces of added footage, some of which give us a small hint of what's to come, though the overall plot remains shrouded in mystery.

One shot in particular shows, what appears to be, a person frozen in ice (remind you of an certain Marvel character?), as Carter says "this case is much larger than we initially thought." This still says little about the plot, but it does raise some questions. Who is frozen in ice? Does this have anything to do with the move out west? Whatever the case, we know that Agent Carter's return will feature "her most dangerous assignment yet," and will include a new love interest as well as a "more sinister threat" in the bright lights of Hollywood.

Agent Carter Season 2 Adds Madame Masque Ana Jarvis

The cast includes returning favorites like Carter herself (played by Hayley Atwell), Jarvis (James D'Arcy), and Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj). However, since they move to L.A., the cast has expanded to include a lot of new characters, such as mob boss Joseph Manfredi (played by Ken Marino), and the primary villain of the season, Madame Masque (Wynn Everett).

This promo still gives away little about Madame Masque's involvement. In the comics, the villain exists alongside younger characters and even shared a romance with Tony Stark. In this version, she will obviously exist alongside the previous generation. Perhaps she will have romantic ties with Iron Man's father, Howard Stark, who is also confirmed to reappear in the second season and is rather popular with the ladies.

Agent Carter Season 2 premieres Tuesday, January 5th at 9pm on ABC.
