With Marvel's Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. on winter hiatus, Marvel's Agent Carter is once again taking its place during ABC's Tuesday night line up, airing all ten episodes of its second season from January through March of 2016. Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is returning at the titular hero, working to distinguish herself at the Strategic Scientific Reserve, overcome rampant near-cartoonish sexism, and thwart crime.
Following its eight episode Season 1 set in New York City, the spy action thriller is relocating Carter to sunny Los Angeles for Season 2. Previous full-length trailers, and an assortment of TV spots have already promised more glitz, glamour and fighting, but there was originally some question as to who exactly from Agent Carter season 1 would make the move too (even as cast additions continued to roll out). Thankfully, most of the key players that made Season 1 so entertaining are returning, and we now have a closer look at the profiles of both heroes and villains alike.
TV Line has just released new images in line with the noir-promotion for Agent Carter season 2. Along with Atwell we have profiles of Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy), Chief Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), Chief Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray), returning evil-doer Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan) and newcomers Calvin Chadwick (Currie Graham), Ana Jarvis (Lotte Verbeek) and Dr. Jason Wilkes (Reggie Austin) along with a few other charachters.

A recent promo gave the advice to “be bold, be badass, and dress to kill,” and everyone seems to be following that advice, dressed sharply in their period garb in various shades of serious. These new profile photos don't give away any new information about season 2 or the dangers that Carter will face in Los Angles, but the sun and shadow shading around Thompson is certainly an interesting take. Perhaps the other new chief will head down a darker path this season?
There is not much longer to wait before we find out, with Agent Carter season 2's premiere date inching ever closer. The promotional push has been impressive and might signal some key improvement in the show's sophomore outing. While the first season had some hallmarks of excellent superhero storytelling it was often bogged down by clunky dialogue and inconsistent pacing. Hopefully they will follow in the example of their sister-show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and will have retained what works, and improved upon what didn't in its second outing.
Agent Carter season 2 premieres Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at 9pm on ABC. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.season 3 returns next year on Tuesday, March 8th at 9pm on ABC.
